Charles Eaves Barrett, 83, of Franklin, formerly of Madisonville, died Oct. 10, 1998, at a Woodburn nursing home. The Sacramento native was a retired Kentucky Farm Bureau insurance agent, a farmer, a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, A world War II Army veteran, a former lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves and a member of the Madisonville Kiwanis Club and First Baptist Church of Madisonville, where he was a deacon. He was the son of the late Eva Batsel Barrett and Sanders Eaves Barrett.Funeral was today at First Baptist Church of Franklin with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Booker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church of Franklin or the charity of one's chioce.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Pettus Barrett, three daughters, Margaret Barrett Shannon, Carolyn Barrett Smith and Julia Barrett Day; a son, John Charles Barrett; and two grandchildren.
