Laura Grace Batsel's first marriage was to Stanley W. Horspool. When they married, both changed their surnames to Dicus because Laura didn't want her children to have the surname of Horspool. They had one child. After they divorced a few years later, Laura kept her Dicus surname. She next met Thos Chapman and had her second child with him, but they did not marry. Laura's second marriage was to Shannon Martin Fears.
