Susie Dee Batsel married Norman V. Dossett. He was born 29 Mar 1917 in Jackson Michigan and died 28 Jan 2005 in Owensboro Kentucky. He was buried at the Sacramento Methodist Church Cemetery in Sacramento Kentucky.
SACRAMENTO, KY Norman V. Dossett, 87, died Jan. 28, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in Jackson, Mich. March 29, 1917, to the late Arch and Alice Dossett, he was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and taught music in the McLean County School System. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, having served 39 years as Postmaster at Sacramento and having served as State President of the National League of District Postmasters.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserves after 28 and a half years of service. As a member of the Sacramento United Methodist Church, he served on the official board, held the offices of treasurer and Sunday school superintendent and taught the men’s Sunday school class. In addition, he served as chairman of the board at the Sacramento Deposit Bank and held memberships with the Sacramento Masonic Lodge #735, the Sacramento Order of the Eastern Star #67, the American Legion, James Bethel Gresham Post and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Sue Dossett in February 2000. Survivors include his wife, Susie Batsel Dossett; a son, Jon Michael (Cathy) Dossett of San Antonio, Texas and two grandchildren, Andrew Michael and Jon Garrett Dossett.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Jan. 31 at Tucker Funeral Home in Sacramento with the Rev. Jesse Johnson officiating. Burial followed at the Sacramento United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Sacramento United Methodist Church Building Fund, 155 Walnut Street, Sacramento, KY 42372.
