Born and raised on Toronto Island and a graduate of the Claude Watson School for the Performing Arts, Matthew Ferguson's theatrical debut at the age of 17 was the production of "Geometry in Venice." This role garnered him a nomination for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Best Featured Actor. Later that year, he won a coveted role in "On My Own."
Among his recent film work includes "The English Patient" and "Uncut." In addition, he has received two Best Leading Actor Genie Award nominations for his roles in "Eclipse" and "Lillies," and he earned an additional Best Supporting Actor nomination for "Love and Human Remains."
Ferguson's television credits include guest-starring roles on "Psi Factor," "Top Cops" and "Street Legal." He has also starred in several made-for-television movies including "The Wall," "The Deliverance of Elaine," "Harrison Bergeron," "Lives of Girls and Women" and "Spencer: For Hire."
