Brian is a very original guy, jeans, tshirts, are his style. He is down to earth, funny and sometimes very shy and serious.
From an early age Brian was involved in the church choir , chorus at school and many sporting events , his favorite as a child being baseball. " I never dreamed of being a big star or anything. I grew up in a big Baptist church and ever since I could walk I was singing. "
When Brian reached the very young age of 5 he was diagnosed with a heart infection called Ventrical Septal Defect which at one point was very fatal. He was weak to walk, talk and yes even sing. The doctor had told his parents to go ahead and make funeral arrangements, but with the strength of god, family , and friends Brian is able to share his talent all over the world.
After spending many years at the church singing, and letting others enjoy his singing also he got an invitation to sing with a friend of his at a school talent show performing " Another Time , Another Place " The girl he was singing with started and then when Brian came in the school roared with amazement. Brian could actually sing!!!!! After 3 words he couldnt even hear himself singing everyone was screaming his name, and praising his talent.
Soon after this great occasion Brian recieved a call from his older cousin Kevin Richardson who was in Orlando, Florida at the time. Kevin had a great opportunity for him to come to Orlando and give singing a chance professionally.
So at the age 18 Brian was on a plane to 'O Town, not knowing he would be greeted by a stretch limo, a record producer , Kevin and 3 guys he had never met before, who turned out to be Howie Dorough, Alexander McLean, and Nick Carter, Ever since that day Brian is so happy that Kevin called him and helped him achieve what he has today.
As many years went on, and millions of records were being sold. There was a side to Brian no one knew, he was having such a great time on the road, meeting fans , signing autographs , but especially singing. Knowing he needed someone to share all his dreams with he felt lonely, he had no one to talk to on the phone and be able to say " This is how I am feeling" , then he met the girl he soon came to love and honour. At one of the many photo shoots in Los Angelos , California Brian and the rest of the Backstreet Boys set out to film yet another video for a soon to be released single " As Long As You Love Me " during this shoot he became close to an actress / model in the video, Leighanne Wallace she with many other girls were in the video as extras, after getting to know Brian and him doing the same, they decided a year later for Leighanne to be in yet another Backstreet Boys video " I'll Never Break Your Heart " version 2 & 3 , as Brian's Love in the video. Many fans not knowing Brian and Leighanne had started their love for eachother started the video before, rumors started escaping and Brian was caught with a GIRLFRIEND. The press having a hay day with the fact that a Backstreet Boy has a girlfriend not knowing others did too.Brian first acknowledged his love for Leighanne on a USA taping of Regis and Kathee Lee in November of 98 , saying he was seeing someone.
Many people wonder why he didnt come out with it earlier, well just look how the fans reacted, calling her foul names and rude comments right to her face while at a Backstreet Boys concert. Just because she is dating a Backstreet Boy she is critized because for somereason they feel they have a chance. I personnally am HAPPY for Brian and Leighanne and hope they find and live a happy long life together forever!!!!!!!
