The Restoration of "CHRISTINE"

Many thanks to my ex-husband- Keith and my best friend- Ken, for helping out so much with the resto of Christine. Without their expertise this dream wouldn't be coming true for me!

Here's Christine at the first bodyshop for some rust repairs. Took me almost a year to get it back from this guy. This was the start of a long and expensive journey.
Wouldn't you say the other side was more photogenic? By the way, I did the repair work on the front fender myself.
Here's my baby after I paid a second bodyshop $1700 to complete the body work. Think I got SCREWED??? I sure did!
Another view of my "royal screwing". Makes me sick looking at it. It's okay though, she's taking shape now!
Where are the floorpans? This isn't a Flintstones car people!
Okay, here they are! MUCH MUCH better!!
This pic should show you the extent of the rust damage we've been working with. Christine was a tetanus shot waiting to happen!
The new outerwheel housing. The inners were still in good shape.
The entire trunk floor had to replaced on both sides. This pic doesn't really show how bad it was, but you get the general idea.
Here's the trunk floor completely replaced. The gas tank was still in excellent condition. Nothing a wire brush and some undercoating didn't take care of!
Keith doing some final touch up work on the drivers side quarter panel. If this man charged me labor fees I would be a broke woman! Not many ex's would do stuff like this for each other. Keith's a great guy!
Ahhhhhhhh, the body work is almost done! Now on to the front end of the car.
Can you believe I drove my baby with the engine looking like this?? I'm so ashamed of myself. But keep in mind I was only 16 and didn't give a rats ass about anything but making sure I had enough gas money to get to school!
Okay, now all the fender aprons and shock towers have to come out to be replaced. The frame rails were done by bodyshop #1.
This would be moi trying to remove the paint with a sander. Didn't take me long to say, "Srew this! Where's the paint stripper??" LOL
Notice the hole where the battery tray should be? And the cracking on the shock tower? Not a problem, the engine compartment is what Keith's working on now.
