During the month, we also encountered many different outreach opportunities. We spent a few days a week in the MRT park presenting the Gospel through drama and dance, sometimes with a translator, other times without. It was a challenge to not see the fruits, but we were encouraged because we know that every little seed that we planted would be watered and would grow! Wednesday's were a special day of ministry for myself, because I had the privelage of working in an old folks home all 4 weeks in Taiwan. Every week some of the team along with some of the base staff would go to the home and do some songs, a skit/dance, and then share a brief story and testimony. It was a blessing for me just to see the joy on some of the old folks faces as we would share God's love with them!! Fridays were interesting, to say the least! =) We would minister in a hospital by presenting our dramas and dance, and then go out and pray for people on the different floors. The 4th floor was particulary comical!! (it was a mental ward, with very friendly patients!)
God really taught me a lot on this outreach. There were some personal struggles that I was trying to overcome on the trip, and it was hard. God just told me to trust in Him and that He would take care of me! He also taught me so much about leadership and servanthood, and how the two go hand-in-hand! I was looking forward to spending time talking to the students and getting to share Jesus' love with them verbally, and God was telling me to serve behind the counter. At first, that seemed pretty easy, but then it became a struggle because I got the mindset that I didn't have to talk to anyone. God then took me from behind the counter and had me to talk to people. I also had the responsibility of assigning work duties, which should have been a pretty easy job. However, God was trying to teach me something through this. Being a servant isn't always an easy job, but it's what makes a leader a leader!
This is Mayi trying to teach us some Chines!
