Week of August 1-6, 1999 Roofing, Cupola, & Garage Doors |

Some of the needed supplies were not in. There seems to be a mix-up on the order. Sunday morning John and Mary Ann finished the bulk of the shingles. The roof vent and cap shingles are left. In the afternoon, John worked on the cupola. Alexandria was thrilled with this structure. She thinks it is a little house for her. |

Installing the nine-foot garage doors is another major undertaking. John carefully looks over the instructions, then step by step they are assembled. He works well passed 10 PM to get the first one in place with the scaffolding holding the upper tracks. |

The other construction focus this week was the roof vents and ridge shingles. There has been major delays getting the order of ridge shingles, so the vent was done without them. John did the vents on Wednesday morning. There was a fine feeling of accomplishment as he stood in the area left for the cupola. Hopefully the other materials will be in on Thursday or Friday. |
