Staci sighed happily, looking out the window at the passing scenery. Her and her boyfriend, Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys, were driving along a deserted dirt road, on their way to a weekend of peacefulness. No civilization, power, running water, and electricity for 2 days. Just trees, a tent, sleeping bags and a few other little items. Brian had suggested that him and Staci get away from everything, and take a little camping trip. They had been seeing each other for about a year and a half, and they both loved each other very much. Brian had gotten back from touring a few weeks earlier, but up to that point, he had been busy with working in the studio, trying to master a new song of his. He felt bad about not spending any time with his girlfriend, so he planned this get-away.
“So baby, are you looking forward to this weekend alone?” Brian asked, looking at Staci from the corner of his eye. Staci smiled and turned to Brian.
“Why wouldn’t I? I used to love camping when I was younger! Now, I’m going with you! This is going to be so perfect!”
Brian grinned and focused his attention back to the road. Staci turned back, and watched everything skim across the window in a blur. Brian’s thoughts wandered to his perfect relationship. He glanced at Staci. In his eyes she was an angel. Her long brown hair always looked in place and was soft to the touch. Her beautiful brown eyes, which he sometimes got lost in, always seemed to show her emotions. When he looked deep into them, he could almost see her soul. She stood 5’4”, which was perfect for his 5’8” frame. Not too tall, not too short. Staci was very outgoing and at times could be very immature. That’s what got Brian attracted to her. When he saw her playing in the park with the kids she was babysitting, it was hard to tell who was supposed to be the adult! He smiled to himself.
‘Life is perfect right now.’ He thought to himself.
Little did he know Staci was having similar thoughts. She was replaying their relationship in her head, asking herself how she got so lucky meeting Brian. For her, it was almost like love at first sight. His short dark blond hair, that curled at the ends. Staci loved playing with his hair. His sparkling blue eyes, which always seemed to glow. And his cute little smile. It seemed to always have a mischievous side to it. The way he would sing to her, trying to cheer her up, or always let her win at Nintendo, even though he hated to lose. He was everything she had been looking for and more. She looked at him and smiled. He caught her gaze and smiled back. Brian quickly turned back to the road.
“I love you, you know that right?” Brian said softly.
Staci nodded. “I love you too.”
Brian took one of her small hands and brought it to his lips, the whole time keeping his eyes on the road. He kissed it lightly, and set it back on her lap. Staci’s heart fluttered as she gently touched the spot where his lips had been. Brian’s smile suddenly got bigger when he noticed a sign on the side of the road.
“We’re here!” he shouted playfully, giving Staci
a silly grin. She giggled, her excitement evident. Brian parked
in a designated area, and climbed out, quickly making his way to Staci’s
side of the car. He opened the door before she had a chance, and
took her hand, helping her out. She smiled up at him and went towards
the trunk to grab their stuff. Once everything was unloaded, Brian
put on the alarm (out of habit) and locked the car up. He smiled
once again at his girlfriend, and took her hand in his. He led the
way into the trees, taking a deep breath of the fresh air. It felt
so good to be free of everything, no stress, phone calls, NOTHING.
For the first time in a while, he felt free. Brian gently tugged
at Staci’s hand, urging her to go faster. Staci laughed at how eager
he seemed.
