Chapter 4

I can feel my legs shaking as I'm walking down the sidewalk. When I get to the park I don't see him anywhere. I start to think he changed his mind, that he never liked me anyway. I head over to the swingsets and that's when I see him. My angel. My Taylor. He hasn't seen me yet. He's sitting on a swing, swaying back and forth slowly. I walk up behind him, not a clue what to say. His golden hair covers his face, as he looks at the ground kicking his foot in the dirt.

"Hi." I finally spit out. I've never been so nervous.

He turns around, a bit startled. "Oh, hi." I smile. And then silence, which makes me even more nervous. "I didn't think you'd come."

"Why not?" I walk over and sit on a swing beside him.

"I don't know." He smiles, appears to blush a little. "So... Hailey, how old are you?"

"I'm 17. How about you?" He's so beautiful.

"16. I haven't seen you around here before..."

"Yeah I just moved here a couple months ago from Kentucky. Hey thanks for the roses." I smile at him and he smiles back.

"I thought you might like them." The bit of redness in his cheaks makes him even cuter. "So, um, do you have a boyfriend?"

"No, I haven't even made any friends yet, except for Candice." I thought about asking if he had a girlfriend, but I figured he didn't or he wouldn't have bought me the roses. Or have asked me to come and meet him.

A little more silence, and finally he spoke again. "So... how do you like Tulsa?" He started to swing a little bit.

I took my backpack off and swung beside him. "It's okay. Better than Kentucky. I miss my dad and brother though."

"Oh. Your parents got a divorce?" He got a sympathetic look on his face. How sweet.

"Yeah. My mom got me and my dad got my brother, he's only four. My grandparents use to live in the house we're living in now. When they died they left it to my mom, and we didn't have anything to do with it until now." Remembering my dad and brother made me feel sad, and I think Taylor noticed.

"Oh I'm sorry." We had stopped swinging and he put his hand on my shoulder.

"It's alright." He is soo sweet.

"What's your brother's name?" He paused a second, and added, "Unless you don't wanna talk about this, it's okay."

"No it's alright. His name is Timmy. You make me think of him cause he has kinda long hair for a boy, but it's a little darker than yours." He smiled... that sexy smile. I can't believe I'm actually getting comfortable with talking to this guy. "Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

He grinned before answering. "Three brothers and three sisters."

"Wow, I always wanted a big family." I still don't believe how perfect this guy is.

"Yeah, it's great. But it can get pretty hectic sometimes. There's me, Ike, Zac, Mac, Jessica, Avery, and Zoe. Seven kids in one house. But I do like having a big family." I hope I get to meet them someday.

"So how far do you live from here?" I wish he lived right beside me. Well, with me would be even better.

"About 3 miles, in the other direction." I nod, and there's another moment of silence. "So, you doing anything tomorrow?"

Oh wow, he's asking me out. I have got to be dreaming. "Nope, not a thing. I'm off work Saturday's, Sunday's and Wednesday." Tomorrow is Saturday, I wish I could spend the whole weekend with him.

"Well, would you like to get breakfast somewhere and maybe do something afterwards?" Oh... wow.

"Yeah that sounds great!" Gosh I hope I didn't sound too excited.

"Good." There's that sexy smile again. "There is this awesome little restaraunt down the street that serves the best pancakes. You wanna meet here at eight in the morning?"

"Great." I smile at him, I'm so excited.

"Well I better be going," he says, starting to stand up.

"Yeah me too. My mom will have a fit if I'm not home for dinner." We stand still beside each other for a second, in complete silence. I'd love to kiss him, and I wonder if he's thinking the same about me, but we don't. "So I'll see you in the morning?"

"It's a date." He says and winks at me. I feel like I'm going to melt. "Bye Hailey."

"Bye Taylor." I reply, and we begin walking our seperate ways. I have to look back a few times, to make sure he doesn't fade away and show this really is a dream. We look back at the same time once, smile, and wave at each other. At that second, I take in his smile, his eyes, his whole body. I have to remember it perfectly until tomorrow. Today's the first day I haven't been to my little secret place in the woods for a while, but that's okay, I have sooo much to write about tonight!
