To the mothers that chose to stay
at home while their children were small!

Mother's of a certain kind,
are getting harder and harder to find,
that love their children enough to forsake,
themselves no matter what others think.

I've had outside jobs it's true,
before my children came along,
I had to make a decision what to do,
What was right and what was wrong?

My children need my love and care,
How can I explain to them, "It isn't fair?
Being a mom is too hard to do,
I want adult friends, someone to talk to.

I need to get out for 8 hours of the day,
I need a break dear God I pray,
All mothers do it so why can't I?
All I can think is, Why, God, Why?"

When I started thinking about it, it came to me,
I chose to have a child no matter how hard it may be,
When I have children they're my responsibility,
Then from that burden I was let free.

Yes, God, no matter what the cost,
I will stay with them no matter what I think I lost,
What I have gained is far beyond measure,
Thank you God for this glorious treasure!"
