My New Zealand life started with my primary school life many years ago. At that time I just turned six years old. When I arrived in this new country, I cried lots because I didn't know a word of English, but this problem soon went away. By the end of the year, I was speaking English like other Kiwi girls and boys were. And oh, I have to use this opportunity to thank this girl called Patricia Edmonds. I've been knowing her since my first day (basically) but then lost contact when she and her family moved down to Wellington to live. At my first year, I also made a Hong Kong friend. She was one of the first friends I made in living memory and her name was Rebecca.
Well anyway, life goes on. Wakaaranga was an awesome school, I started learning Japanese in Standard Three. I made more friends. I met some very great teachers. I joined a netball team and played on Saturdays. I started to play the piano at the age of eight and so on. Primary school life was carefree, no worries about assignments, tests or deadlines. It didn't care whether you could catch up with your work or not, you could lounge and do nothing to get into the next grade. Life was just that simple. Enjoyable.
