Frankfort KY trumpeter Rick Cook is one of central Kentucky's finest jazz trumpet players. Rick studied trumpet at the University of Kentucky where he learned from trumpet ace Vince DiMartino. Cook has performed with many fine musicians and with many fine groups. He is often heard playing with Tom Senff, Hunt Butler, Joe McGrannahan, Men of Note, Vince DiMartino and Miles Osland. Saxman David Hall always enjoys performing with Rick. David first performed with Rick as a member of the University of Kentucky Jazz Ensemble in the late 1970's. Alumni of that jazz group include Phil Collier (sax), Stewart Miller (bass), Bob Rummage (drums), Kevin Moore (trumpet), Larry Harris (piano), Brad Goode (trumpet), Steve "Fox" Walters, David Henderson (trombone), Bob Bryant (bass), and Bob Boguslaw (piano).
