This is of the ancient Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet. This amulet is of the Aegis of Sekhmet, and was worn by individuals to protect them. Sekhemet was the lion headed goddess in Egypt. These amulets are very rare to find. An amulet such as this one is by far one of the more uncommon amulets that can be found in ancient Egypt. Here is a strand of mummybeads, on a necklace. These can be worn if desired, or an amulet can be added to them, much in the same way that the ancient Egyptians did. Beaded necklaces such as these were used with amulets, such as the Eye of Horus, to protect them from danger, give them courage and strength, and to honor their gods.
