Narrator: Suzanne Toren

Review:

I have never been a huge fan of James Patterson or his Alex Cross series. His books were good but I could take 'em or leave 'em.
That said, I absolutely loved "1st to Die". I was hooked from the very first page and continued to be hooked right to the very end. I will certainly be reading all of this new series, as soon as Patterson writes them.

Four women team up to stop a killer who has been murdering newlyweds in San Francisco. Lindsay Boxer is a homicide inspector for the San Francisco Police Department, Claire Washburn is a medical examiner, Jill Bernhardt is an assistant D.A., and Cindy Thomas is a reporter. These women develop a close bond as they team up to track down a killer whose crimes have stunned the city.

When the normal procedures don't get them any closer to solving the crime, these women form the Women's Murder Club. They get together and share the information they each have about the case. They do this without their bosses knowing what they are doing. Working together, they track down the most heinous killer they have ever encountered. The ending is a shock in which everything they thought they knew turns out to be wrong.

I recommend 1ST TO DIE to everyone, mystery and romance readers alike. The mystery reader will enjoy this fast paced thriller while the romance reader will like the sensual and tragic relationship between Lindsay and Chris Raleigh, her new partner for this case.

NOTE: This book will be made into a mini-series on NBC so be on the look-out for it but read the book first.
