This is a nice little romp through time. Leith Campbell from the 1700's and Fortune MacDonald from the year 2300 meet in the year 2000, as part of a cosmic practical joke. They are suppose to meet and fall in love then be separated forever.

Fortune is from a time when their are no real men, they have been eradicated by a scientific mistake. Leith is from a time that is violent and primitive. They just can not understand each other, but they eventually discover (while trying to get back to their own time) that they don't want to be separated forever. They must each overcome their past before they can have a future.

This is really an interesting story with some surprising twists and turns. There's alot about this book to like and the humor is subtle and very well done.
