The Warrior

PUBLISHING DATE: June 2001

Review:

I've been fascinated by mythology for years, so I was intrigued by the premise Ms. Nance set up with Zeus and Hera (who have been banished to earth) as matchmakers trying to atone for their past sins by giving the decendants of the numerous women they have harmed the gift of true love. I almost didn't buy this book because I didn't care much for the first book in the series THE TRICKSTER, but I very glad I decided to get it anyway.

Hera chooses Callie Gabriel, a distant decendant of Callisto as target number two. However, before the Gods can intercede, Callie becomes involved with FBI Agent Armand Marceux, who is suffering from drug-induced amnesia caused by his enemies. Armand happens to be a decendant of Ares, which leads Hera to worrying that with the God of War in his gene pool, this mortal cannot fall love. Zeus and Hera know they have a Herculean task ahead of them.

THE WARRIOR, is the second book in the “Sons of Olympus” series, and is a highly entertaining romance that tells us the Ancient Greek Gods are still interfering in mortal lives in the 21st century. Readers will find this tale of immortal redemption quite unique and refreshing. I'm anxiously awaiting Kathleen Nance’s next story, THE SOUL SEEKER.
