Tamara Hayle is a single mother and private investigator. She left the police force to pursue this new career.

In this story, Tamara investigates the mysterious deaths of a group of young men. These young men are being murdered, one by one with no apparent justification. The one thing they have in common is that these young men have the same father, who also happens to be the father of Tamara's son. She wants to find out what is going on before it's to late.

This investigation gives you a look at Tamara the PI, Tamara the mother, and Tamara the woman. It shows her relationships with the men in her life: her brother Johnny, her son, her ex (DeWayne), her former co-workers, and the mysterious Basil Dupree.

I really loved this book, Tamara is one tough cookie but also has a soft side. I even liked DeWayne and Basil Dupree reminded me a little of Ranger (of the Janet Evanoich series). I give thumbs up on this one, you won't be disappointed.
