The eight teams competing for the 6th Region Tournament are Central, Holy Cross, Iroquois, Bullitt East, Pleasure Ridge Park, Fairdale, Butler, and Presentation Academy.  

Tuesday March 4th

at Bellarmine University
Central (12-16) vs. Holy Cross (17-8)

Central Coach Ben Easley started the following lineup:  5-9 Sr. Brittany Fears, 5-9 Sr. Jessica Chivers, Brianna Everette, Krystl Coleman, and LaQuaia Mosby.  Holy Cross Coach Fred Copass countered with 5-10 Sr. Elizabeth Schuler, 5-8 Sr. Megan Davis, 6-0 So. Olivia Moore, 5-6 Jr. Staci Floyd, and 5-7 So. Robin Deckard

Central led Holy Cross 23-21 at halftime but Holy Cross rallied in the second half to gain a 51-38 victory.   Central only shot 19.2% from the field in the second half while Holy Cross shot 55.6% after the intermission.  

Holy Cross shot 51.4% from the field including zero of three from the three point line.   The Cougars connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 21 Central turnovers.   Central shot 25.4% from the field including one of 14 from beyond the arc.   The Lady Jackets connected on seven of 10 free throws, grabbed 35 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 27 Holy Cross turnovers.  

Elizabeth Schuler led Holy Cross with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and eight blocked shots.  Megan Davis added 12 points and seven rebounds.  Olivia Moore chipped in with 10 points.  Jessica Chivers led Central with 14 points and six rebounds.

Bullitt East (21-10) vs. Iroquois (25-3)

Bullitt East Coach Chris Stallings started the following lineup:  5-9 Sr. Whitney Hanley, 5-10 So. Kayla Thacker, 5-10 So. Shelby Romine, 5-9 Sr. Kelly Harrod, and 5-8 Jr. Chelsey Smith.  Iroquois Coach Al Northington countered with 5-6 Jr. Kayla Hickman, 5-9 Jr. Adia Mathies, 5-8 So. Victoria Brown, 5-5 Jr. Asia Mathies, and 5-6 Jr. Stafonia Taylor

Iroquois defeated Bullitt East by a score of 54-31.   Iroquois shot 36% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.   The Lady Raiders connected on 15 of 26 free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Bullitt East turnovers.   Bullitt East shot 23.1% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.   The Lady Chargers connected on five of eight free throws, grabbed 38 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 17 Iroquois turnovers.  

Adia Mathies and Victoria Brown led Iroquois with 13 points and 10 rebounds each.  Asia Mathies added nine points and seven rebounds.  Whitney Hanley led Bullitt East with 11 points.  Kayla Thacker added seven points and eight rebounds.

Pleasure Ridge Park (9-19) vs. Fairdale (21-8)

Pleasure Ridge Park Coach Buddy Fluhr started the following lineup:  5-8 Jr. Jofrantenay Lavender, 5-6 Jr. Staquale Standard, 5-8 So. Raneshia Jones, 5-4 Sr. Kiara Watts, and 5-5 Sr. Jersharra Willis.  Fairdale Coach Larry Bruner countered with 5-8 Sr. Ceira Ricketts, 5-7 Jr. Kayla Thompson, 5-9 So. Nakhara Gaines, 5-6 Sr. Brittney Wieber, and 5-8 Jr. Brook Thompson

Ceira Ricketts recorded a rare quadruple double (21 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals) to lead Fairdale to a 64-43 victory over Pleasure Ridge Park.  

Fairdale shot 51.9% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.   The Lady Bulldogs connected on four of nine free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 18 PRP turnovers.   PRP shot 34% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.   The Lady Panthers connected on four of 11 free throws, grabbed 33 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Fairdale turnovers.  

Kayla Thompson led Fairdale in scoring with 24 points.  Ceira Ricketts added a quadruple double and also three blocked six shots.  Jersharra Willis led PRP with 17 points including three three point baskets.  Staquale Standard added 12 points and five rebounds.

Butler (26-5) vs. Presentation Academy (17-12)

Butler Coach Eddy Wilson started the following lineup:  5-9 Sr. Tia Gibbs, 5-9 Sr. Brittany Harris, 5-11 Jr. Tiara Hopper, 5-5 Fr. Heather Wheat, and 5-7 Sr. Kara Pile.  Presentation Academy Coach David Jackson countered with 5-10 Sr. Emily Hettel, 5-9 Jr. Susan Stein, 5-11 Jr. Haley Edlin, 5-8 Sr. Emily Conklin, and 5-2 Sr. Katherina Greenwell

Butler raced out to a 29-12 halftime lead in a 51-31 victory over Presentation Academy.   Butler scored 24 points off 29 Presentation turnovers.  

Butler shot 37.7% from the field including three of eight from the three point line.   The Bearettes connected on eight of 13 free throws and pulled down 37 rebounds.   Presentation shot 28.2% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.   The Toppers connected on five of nine free throws, grabbed 29 rebounds, and scored seven points off 20 Butler turnovers.  

Tia Gibbs led a balanced Butler attack with 11 points and seven rebounds.  Tiara Hopper added nine points and seven rebounds.  Emily Conklin led Presentation with nine points and eight rebounds.

Thursday March 6th

Iroquois (26-3) vs. Holy Cross (18-8)  (Semifinal)

Iroquois Coach Al Northington started the following lineup:  5-6 Jr. Kayla Hickman, 5-9 Jr. Adia Mathies, 5-8 So. Victoria Brown, 5-5 Jr. Asia Mathies, and 5-6 Jr. Stafonia Taylor.  Holy Cross Coach Fred Copass countered with 5-10 Sr. Elizabeth Schuler, 5-8 Sr. Megan Davis, 6-0 So. Olivia Moore, 5-6 Jr. Staci Floyd, and 5-7 So. Robin Deckard

Iroquois defeated Holy Cross by a score of 45-24.   Iroquois shot 34.5% from the field including only one of 16 from the three point line.   The Lady Raiders connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 33 Holy Cross turnovers.   Holy Cross shot 32.3% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc.   The Cougars connected on three of four free throws and grabbed 31 rebounds.  

Victoria Brown and Asia Mathies led Iroquois with 12 and 11 points respectively.   Adia Mathies added nine points and 11 rebounds.  Elizabeth Schuler led Holy Cross with seven points and six rebounds.  Robin Deckard and Staci Floyd added six points each.

Butler (27-5) vs. Fairdale (22-8)  (Semifinal)

Butler Coach Eddy Wilson started the following lineup:  5-9 Sr. Tia Gibbs, 5-9 Sr. Brittany Harris, 5-11 Jr. Tiara Hopper, 5-5 Fr. Heather Wheat, and 5-7 Sr. Kara Pile.  Fairdale Coach Larry Bruner countered with 5-6 Jr. Kayla Hickman, 5-9 Jr. Adia Mathies, 5-8 So. Butler led 28-8 at halftime on their way to a 52-40 victory over Fairdale.   The second quarter was disastrous for Fairdale as they were outscored 12-1.  

Butler shot 35.3% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.   The Bearettes connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 Fairdale turnovers.   Fairdale shot 25.5% from the field including two of 17 from beyond the arc.   The Lady Bulldogs connected on 14 of 20 free throws, grabbed 30 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Butler turnovers.  

Tia Gibbs led Butler with 19 points and 14 rebounds.  Tiara Hopper added 15 points and 11 rebounds.  Ceira Ricketts led Fairdale with 22 points and seven rebounds.  Brittney Wieber added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Saturday March 9th

at Louisville Gardens
Butler (28-5) vs. Iroquois (27-3)  (Championship)

Butler Coach Eddy Wilson started the following lineup:  5-9 Sr. Tia Gibbs, 5-9 Sr. Brittany Harris, 5-11 Jr. Tiara Hopper, 5-6 Jr. Shontel Bates, and 5-7 Sr. Kara Pile.  Iroquois Coach Al Northington countered with 5-6 Jr. Kayla Hickman, 5-9 Jr. Adia Mathies, 5-8 So. Victoria Brown, 5-5 Jr. Asia Mathies, and 5-6 Jr. Stafonia Taylor

Tia Gibbs scored on a putback at the buzzer to give Butler a 49-47 victory over Iroquois.   Iroquois held a 38-29 lead at the end of three quarters but Butler staged a furious rally in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.  

Butler shot 43.5% from the field including one of seven from the three point line.   The Bearettes connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Iroquois turnovers.   Iroquois shot 48.8% from the field including five of 10 from beyond the arc.   The Lady Raiders missed all three free throws, grabbed 23 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Butler turnovers.  

Tia Gibbs led Butler with 16 points and nine rebounds.  Tiara Hopper added 15 points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Kayla Hickman led Iroquois with 14 points.  Adia Mathies added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
