Whitley County "A" vs. Whitley County "B" (did not play - teams shared Third Place)
Congratulations to Whitley County, Whitley County "A", and Clay County for winning their respective championships. Also congratulations to Lexington Catholic High School Coach Jeff Hans for putting together an excellent event.
I enjoyed this event, and while everyone likes to win and nobody likes to lose, I enjoyed the last two days for a different reason. These young ladies played hard and are working to develop their skills. Blink your eyes and they are in high school. Blink your eyes again and they are graduating and leaving for college. Many hours of hard work go into the process of taking raw talent and seeing them evolve into polished players. Although I don't possess a crystal ball I saw several players this weekend who I feel will be starring on the hardwood over the next few years.
