The 11th Annual Rick Bolus’ High Potential® Basketball Showcase Mini-Camp (Girls) was held in Georgetown, Kentucky at Georgetown College.
The camp director for this camp is Rick Bolus with thirty-five years experience in the basketball business. Rick Bolus started the Rick Bolus High Potential® Basketball Recruiting Service in 1973. Mr. Bolus’ newsletters not only reach the desks of numerous college coaches nationwide, but also several all-star game directors. He has also coached girls' basketball, conducted girls' camps, and ran women's coaching clinics over the years.
A camp report will be made available via internet to almost 2,000 women’s basketball college coaches in the United States in early August. The camp features speakers on recruiting, academics, and basketball. Each player participates in five games over the two-day period. All players receive equal playing time as substitutions are done by the clock. There are fundamentals stations, team practice sessions, optional competition contests, and a written evaluation from the camper's league coach. The camp director is at camp both days observing each player's performance daily. A doctor is on call at all times and a certified trainer is at camp around the clock.
There were 178 players present at this camp. There were players from Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, West Virginia, Virginia, and Wisconsin. They were placed on sixteen teams in two divisions. The North division consisted of Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio. The South division consisted of Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The following is a list of players plus team designations:

5-8 Sr. Rachel Greenwell (Owensboro Catholic, KY) was named the Camp MVP, named to the All-Camp team, was South Division MVP, and impressed observers with her all-around game. 6-3 Sr. Sydnei Buckley (Simeon Career Academy, IL) was named the Camp Runner-Up MVP, named to the All-Camp Team, was the South Division Runner-up MVP, and was impressive with her ability in the paint. 5-6 So. Natalie Greenwell (Elizabethtown, KY) was named Best Underclassman and named to the All-Camp Team.
This was a difficult camp to decide on All-Camp Team and award selections as there were many worthy performers deserving of consideration. There were also several young players in attendance who will contend for quality varsity minutes this season.
While it is impossible to mention every player here, many other players impressed with their ability, work ethic, and attitudes. Although many of the girls had an extremely busy summer schedule, they still gave an excellent effort in this two-day mini-camp. Their effort was certainly appreciated and their hard work did not go unnoticed by the camp staff and coaches in attendance.
As mentioned before, a full camp report will be made available to almost 2,000 women’s basketball college coaches in early August by the camp director. While the staff was well pleased with this year’s camp, every effort will be made to improve the camp to make future versions even better.
