Thirty-two teams will compete for the championship this year.  All the teams will play a play-in game Saturday.  Single elimination play begins Saturday.  The Championship game will be played Friday November 28th at Rupp Arena.

The teams competing for the championship this season are Beaumont, Anderson County, E. J. Hayes, Meyzeek, Crawford, Lincoln County, Jessie Clark, Frankfort, LaRue County, Martin County, Lebanon, A. B. Combs, Trigg County, Wayne County, Herald-Whitaker, Bernheim, Crosby, Middlesboro, Bryan Station, McNabb, Lexington Southern, Somerset Southern, Dorton, Whitley County, Bracken County, Verity, Clay County, McCreary County, Hindman, Ballard County, Elkhorn, and Elkhorn City.

Emily Fox and Sydney Harris led Lincoln County with 14 points each.  Fox recorded four three point baskets.  LaKeysha Stennis and Shirlisa Demus led Crawford with nine and seven points respectively.

Lebanon's  Makayla Epps hit a basket with 2.5 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 30-30 and force overtime.    Lebanon outscored Crosby 10-3 in overtime to earn the title.   Makayla Epps was named tourney MVP and led the victors with 19 points.  Kyvin Goodin-Rogers added 16 points.  China Dow led Crosby with 17 points.  Katie Long added nine points.

Conclusion

Congratulations to Lebanon for their impressive championship over some good competition during this tournament.  While there was some excellent talent in this tournament, Makayla Epps (Lebanon), Kyvin Goodin-Rogers (Lebanon), China Dow (Crosby), and Emily Fox (Lincoln County) seemed to stand out.  It was a great atmosphere and an excellent crowd at Rupp Arena for the championship.  Congratulations to all the teams and players who put in an excellent effort this weekend.  Several of these young ladies are destined for future stardom.
