Monday March 2nd

 

Western Hills  (17-9)  vs.  Scott County  (15-14)

 

Western Hills coach Kevin Radford started the following lineup: 5-6 So. Krystal Cammuse, 5-7 Sr. Sarah Roberts, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Mills, 5-8 So. Meagan Walker, and 5-10 Sr. Tara Arnold.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn, 5-7 Jr. Breonna Jackson, 5-9 So. Alex McKenzie, 5-9 So. Kristen Stainback, and 5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb.

 

Scott County raced out to a 45-14 lead at halftime on their way to a 68-50 over Western Hills.  Scott County shot 35.1% from the field including five of 22 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 25 Western Hills turnovers.  Western Hills shot 22.7% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Wolverines connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored eight points off 14 Scott County turnovers.

 

Madisen Webb led Scott County with 21 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.  Kristen Stainback added 20 points including two three point baskets.  Alex McKenzie recorded six points and 16 rebounds.

 

Tara Arnold led Western Hills with 38 points including four three point baskets and 14 of 16 free throws. Arnold scored 30 points in the second half. Meagan Walker only scored two points but pulled down 22 rebounds.

Lexington Catholic coach Tony Talbott started the following lineup: 5-9 Shaneque McGhee, 5-8 Sr. Danielle Corbett, 5-11 Jr. Madison Smith, 5-8 Sr. Maggie Wilson, and 5-7 Jr. Anna Gayle Scott.  Madison Central coach Robbie Cooksey countered with 5-11 8th grader Ashton Feldhaus, 5-10 So. Jenna Cornelison, 5-10 Jr. Brislyn Sizemore, 5-6 Sr. Lyndsay Jones, and 5-5 Jr. Christina Ciolek.

 

Lexington Catholic outscored Madison Central 23-12 in the second quarter on their way to a 62-45 victory.  Lexington Catholic shot 37% from the field including zero of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 27 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 37.1% from the field including three of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Shaneque McGhee led Lexington Catholic with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Maggie Wilson added 13 points and six rebounds.  5-9 8th grader Octavia Wilson chipped in with 10 points.

 

5-7 So. Kayla Sharp led Madison Central with 10 points.  Jenna Cornelison added nine points and six rebounds.

Madison Southern  (2-22)  vs.  Lexington Christian Academy  (26-4)

 

Madison Southern coach Brian Cunigan started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Brittany Calhoun, 5-8 So. Mary Mullins, 5-5 Sr. Rachel Evans, 5-4 Fr. Jessica Helton, and 5-4 Sr. Liz Hogwood.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Jason Seamands countered with 5-10 Sr. Anna Martin, 6-2 Jr. Sarah Beth Barnette, 5-10 Sr. Caitlin Dorton, 5-5 So. Rachel Cox, and 5-11 Sr. Courtney Clifton.

 

LCA raced out to a 30-4 lead after the first quarter on their way to a 65-40 victory over Madison Southern.  The starters only played from 8:00 to 10:07 minutes for the entire game.  LCA shot 40.3% from the field including 10 of 33 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 22 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 28,6% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on four of six free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off 14 LCA turnovers.

 

Courtney Clifton led LCA with 16 points in only eight minutes of playing time.  Sarah Beth Barnette added nine points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Anna Martin and 5-4 Fr. Kelli Mitchuson chipped in with eight points each.

 

Jessica Helton led Madison Southern with 13 points including four three point baskets.  Mary Mullins added 10 points and 14 rebounds.  Brittany Calhoun chipped in with seven points and 12 rebounds.

Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Nealy Williams, 5-10 Sr. Jeannay Washington, 5-11 Jr. Alesha Prince, 5-5 So. Carrington Caise, and 5-7 Jr. Mikyla Mosby.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-10 Fr.. Ashli Mayes, 5-11 Jr. Andrea Howard, 5-10 Jr. Chelsea Craig, 5-7 So. Finnja Ramcke, and 5-5 Sr. Ashley Decker.

 

Franklin County defeated Bryan Station by a score of 63-52.  Franklin County shot 40.5% from the field including four of six from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 25 of 31 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 18 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 37.9% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Chelsea Craig led Franklin County with 19 points and nine rebounds.  Andrea Howard and 5-10 So. Chelsea Rivers added 13 and 10 points respectively.

 

Alesha Prince led Bryan Station with 10 points and five rebounds.  Carrington Caise added 10 points and three steals.  Jeannay Washington pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Friday March 6th

 

Lexington Catholic  (17-14)  vs.  Scott County  (16-14)  (Semifinal)

 

Lexington Catholic coach Tony Talbott started the following lineup: 5-9 Shaneque McGhee, 5-8 Sr. Danielle Corbett, 5-11 Jr. Madison Smith, 5-8 Sr. Maggie Wilson, and 5-7 Jr. Anna Gayle Scott.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn, 5-7 Jr. Breonna Jackson, 5-9 So. Alex McKenzie, 5-9 So. Kristen Stainback, and 5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb.

 

Scott County defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 69-60.  The first quarter was decisive as Scott County took a 17-8 lead.  Lexington Catholic rallied to tie the score 51-51 in the fourth quarter but Scott County closed out the game with an 18-9 run.

 

Scott County shot 42.9% from the field including one of five from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 26 of 34 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 26% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 18 of 28 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Scott County turnovers.

 

Madisen Webb led Scott County with 20 points including 16 of 16 from the free throw line.  Webb also dished out eight assists.  Kristen Stainback added 18 points.  Alex McKenzie recorded 10 points and 17 rebounds.  Tereka Guyn chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Anna Gayle Scott led Lexington Catholic with 16 points.  Danielle Corbett added 11 points including three three point baskets.  Maggie Wilson chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.  Shaneque McGhee recorded five points, 14 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Alex Botkin scored six points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Rachel Cox, and 5-11 Sr. Courtney Clifton.

 

Lexington Christian Academy raced out to a 37-7 halftime lead in a 67-40 victory over Franklin County.  Franklin County only shot 9.52%  (2-21) from the field in the first half.  LCA shot 50% from the field including five of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 22 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 28.6% from the field including zero of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 21 LCA turnovers.

 

Courtney Clifton led LCA with 22 points and six rebounds.  Anna Martin added 20 points and four steals.  Sarah Beth Barnette recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Chelsea Craig led Madison Central with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Rachel Cox, and 5-11 Sr. Courtney Clifton.   Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn, 5-7 Jr. Breonna Jackson, 5-9 So. Alex McKenzie, 5-9 So. Kristen Stainback, and 5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb.

 

Scott County led 20-17 after the first quarter but it was all LCA after that as the Lady Eagles pulled away for an 81-59 victory.  LCA shot 43.5%  from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 32.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 LCA turnovers.

 

Courtney Clifton led LCA with 38 points including six three point baskets.  Anna Martin added 25 points, eight rebounds, and seven steals.  Sarah Beth Barnett chipped in with eight points and 12 rebounds.

 

Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 24 points.  Madisen Webb added 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.  Alex McKenzie chipped in with six points and 12 rebounds.
