Bryan Station (15-2)  vs.  Ballard (7-9)

 

Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Serena Sandusky, 5-7 Sr. Marissa Prince, 6-0 Sr. Amber Crumbie, 5-7 Sr. Victoria Clark, and 5-6 Sr. Carrington Caise.  Ballard coach Steve Kaufman countered with 6-0 Fr. Javonna Layfield, 5-9 So. Alexus Colbert, 6-2 Sr. Jaylan Bodiford, 5-7 Jr. Daryius Franklin, and 5-5 Sr. Porscha Saunders.

 

Ballard led 23-19 at halftime but Bryan Station outscored the Lady Bruins 36-13 in the second half to earn a 55-36 victory.  Ballard held a commanding 22-7 edge in offensive rebounds but shot a dismal 15.4% from the field in the second half.

 

Bryan Station shot 38.8% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.  Ballard shot 23.3% from the field including one of four from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bruins connected on seven of 20 free throws, pulled down 53 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Marissa Prince led a balanced Bryan Station scoring attack with 14 points including three three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  Serena Sandusky and Carrington Caise added 13 and 11 points respectively.  Amber Crumbie also scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds and blocked five shots.

 

Jaylan Bodiford led Ballard with 10 points and 17 rebounds.  6-3 Sr. Ciera Woods added six points.

Lexington Catholic (10-8)  vs.  Bullitt East (15-5)

 

Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Alex Botkin, 5-10 Jr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Jr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-7 Jr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-8 So. Octavia Wilson.  Bullitt East coach Chris Stalling countered with 5-7 Sr. Whitney Stansbury, 5-11 Sr. Meredith Polson, 6-2 Sr. Lindey Young, 5-3 Fr. Emily Fryman, and 5-8 Jr. Nikole Isabel.

 

Bullitt East pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 40-34.  Lexington Catholic shot an anemic 17.9% from the field but managed to stay in the game on points scored off turnovers and a sizzling 92.9% (13 of 14) from the free throw line.

 

Bullitt East shot 34.2% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Chargers connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 17.9% from the field including one of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 13 of 14 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 22 Bullitt East turnovers.

 

Nikole Isabel led Bullitt East with 13 points including two three point baskets and pulled down five rebounds.  Meredith Polson added 11 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.  Lindey Young recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.

 

Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 11 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Elizabeth Walton added eight points and seven rebounds.

Perry County Central coach Randy Napier started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Randi-Carol Napier, 6-0 Fr. Kayla Rankin, 5-10 Sr. Alyssa Pratt, 5-6 So. Whitney Back, and 5-11 Jr. Kendall Noble.  Sacred Heart Academy Donna Moir countered with 5-11 Sr. Monica McGreal, 5-11 Sr.  Annamarie Campbell, 5-11 Sr. Morgan Clemons, 5-6 Sr. Hannah Washle, and 5-4 Sr. Maddie Peabody.

 

Perry County Central led 38-35 after three quarters but Sacred Heart rallied for a 53-50 victory.  Sacred Heart shot 36.7% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 15 of 31 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 26 Perry County Central turnovers.  Perry County Central shot 40.9% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on 12 of 23 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 22 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Morgan Clemons led Sacred Heart with 21 points and 11 rebounds.  Annamarie Campbell added 10 points and 12 rebounds.  Monica McGreal chipped in with nine points.  Hannah Washle recorded five points and five steals.

 

Kendall Noble led Perry County Central with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and six steals.  Kayla Rankin also scored 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Danielle Lawrence, 5-9 Sr. Megan Cureton, 5-9 So. Aareon Smith, 5-7 Jr. MacKenzie Martinez, and 5-6 Sr. Heather Wheat.

 

Butler scored 29 points off 22 Mt. Notre Dame turnovers in a 54-36 victory.  Butler shot 43.6% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on 18 of 26 free throws and pulled down 28 rebounds.  Mt. Notre Dame shot 33.3% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Cougars connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 13 Butler turnovers.

 

Aareon Smith led Butler with 15 points and six rebounds.  Megan Cureton added 13 points and six rebounds.  MacKenzie Martinez recorded 11 points and five steals.

 

Kathryn Reynolds led Mt. Notre Dame with 12 points including two three point baskets.  Jazmin Hayes added 10 points and five rebounds.  Avery Larkin chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.

Owensboro Catholic coach Ray Zuberer started the following lineup: 5-6 Jr. Stephanie Dooper, 5-4 So. Leah Greathouse, 6-0 Jr. Mary Kate Clemens, 5-4 Jr. Laura Riney, and 6-1 So. Becca Greenwell.  Mercy coach Mark Evans countered with 5-7 So. Whitney Hartlage, 5-11 Jr. Courtney Roush, 5-10 Jr. Christine Roush, 5-5 Sr. Lauren Faris, and 5-8 Sr. Juliann Miller.

 

Mercy Academy raced out to a 23-2 first quarter on their way to a 71-41 victory over Owensboro Catholic.  Mercy shot 45.6% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 25 Owensboro Catholic turnovers. Mercy held a 27-0 advantage in bench scoring. Owensboro Catholic shot 28% from the field including two of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Aces connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored five points off 18 Mercy turnovers.

 

Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 15 points including three three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  5-8 Sr. Emily Goetz added 11 points and six rebounds.  Lauren Faris also reached double figures with 10 points. 

 

Becca Greenwell led Owensboro Catholic with 24 points including two three point baskets and pulled down nine rebounds.  Mary Kate Clemens added nine points.

Marion County coach Trent Milby started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Coco May, 5-8 So. Patrice Tonge, 6-1 So. Kyvin Goodin-Rogers, 5-9 Jr. Bre Elder, and 5-10 So. Makayla Epps.  duPont Manual coach Stacy Pendleton countered with 5-8 Sr. Nicole Lauterbach, 5-10 Jr. Kara Wright, 5-10 Sr. Mechael Guess, 5-6 Jr. LeAsia Wright, and 5-7 Jr. April Wilson.

 

Manual defeated Marion County by a score of 56-45.  Manual shot 39.3% from the field including two of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Crimsons connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 14 Marion County turnovers.  Marion County shot 33.3% from the field including three of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 12 of 25 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored four points off 13 Manual turnovers.

 

Mechael Guess led Manual with 17 points.  Kara Wright added eight points and eight rebounds.  April Wilson chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.  Nicole Lauterbach and LeAsia Wright also scored eight point each.  6-1 So Kayla Styles pulled down 11 rebounds.

 

Makayla Epps led Marion County with 18 points.  Kyvin Goodin-Rogers added six points, 15 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Patrice Tonge chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.  Bre Elder recorded six points, four rebounds, and five assists.
