Lexington Catholic vs. Woodford County (Boys)
Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-3 So. Reese Ryan, 6-2 So. Jarod Griffin, 6-9 Sr. Jack Whitman, 5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 So. Michael Talbott. Woodford County coach Scott Hundley countered with 6-0 Sr. Jalen Raglin, 5-11 Jr. Eli Boggess, 6-5 Sr. Chase Henderlight, 5-7 Sr. Thomas Hickman, and 5-7 Sr. George Cole.
Lexington Catholic defeated Woodford County by a score of 63-53. Lexington Catholic came out hot in the first half shooting 59.1% from the field including five of nine from beyond the arc to take a 31-12 halftime lead. Woodford County rallied in the second half but could never overtake Lexington Catholic. Lexington Catholic shot 53.7% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 13 Woodford County turnovers. Woodford County shot 38.3% from the field including two of 17 from beyond the arc. The Yellow Jackets connected on 15 of 17 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 17 points and seven rebounds. Michael Talbott added 13 points and four assists. Jarod Griffin also recorded 13 points including three three point baskets. Reese Ryan chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.
Eli Boggess led Woodford County with 16 points. Jalen Raglin added 11 points and nine rebounds. 5-10 Sr. Kyle Howell chipped in with eight points.

Scott County defeated Madison Southern by a score of 68-47. Scott County led 41-30 at halftime but Madison Southern went ice cold (3-31) from the field in the second half. Scott County shot 47.5% from the field including seven of 14 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 27.3% from the field including three of 21 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Scott County turnovers.
Trent Gilbert led Scott County with 18 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists. Quinn Richardson added 15 points, four rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals. Jalen Haddix chipped in with 12 points and 11 rebounds. 6-9 Sr. Jordan Tribble recorded six points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Tyler Abshear led Madison Southern with 22 points including two three point baskets. Mike Rothermel added nine points. Drew Taylor chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds. Damien Harris pulled down eight rebounds.

Henry Clay vs. Paul Laurence Dunbar (Boys)
Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Trey Grundy, 6-4 Jr. Jordan Green, 6-5 Sr. Darien Tichenor, 6-1 Jr. Christen Cunningham, and 6-2 So. Jeremiah Tisdale. Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-5 Sr. E.J. Floreal, 6-2 Sr. William Gary, 6-7 Sr. Taylor King, 6-1 Jr. Donnie Lewis, and 5-10 Sr. Mike Smith.
Henry Clay captured a 63-55 double overtime victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar. Dunbar led 37-30 in the third quarter but Henry Clay rallied to take a 44-41 lead late in regulation but Dunbar tied the game at 44-44 to force overtime. Dunbar took a 49-45 lead in the first overtime period but Henry Clay rallied to tie the score at 49-49 and force a second overtime. 6-0 Jr. Teddy Ware nailed a three point basket to give Henry Clay a 52-49 lead and Henry Clay hit their free throws to earn the victory. Christen Cunningham was six of six free throws down the stretch.
Henry Clay shot 44.9% from the field including three of eight from the three point line. The Blue Devils connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers. Trey Grundy and Jordan Green scored on several crowd pleasing dunks tonight. Dunbar shot 37.5% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on 10 of 20 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored eight points off 16 Henry Clay turnovers.
Jordan Green led Henry Clay with 24 points and seven rebounds. Trey Grundy added 19 points and 12 rebounds. Christen Cunningham recorded nine points, five rebounds, and nine assists. Darien Tichenor pulled down 11 rebounds.
William Gary led Dunbar with 17 points including two three point baskets. Mike Smith added nine points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals. 6-5 Sr. Eric Trigg also scored nine points. Taylor King chipped in with eight points and Donnie Lewis recorded seven points, six rebounds, and three assists.

The Indians connected on 14 of 35 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and held a 23-4 advantage in bench scoring. Franklin County shot 32.7% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc. The Flyers connected on seven of 17 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored seven points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.
Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central with 21 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Ken-Jah Bosley added 19 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Quan Taylor chipped in with 17 points including some spectacular dunks. 6-3 So. Sam Jones recorded 12 points and five rebounds. Daniel Parke recorded six assists and six steals.
Rylan Rowe led Franklin County with 21 points including five three point baskets. Lorenzo McCaskill added 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Chris Roberts chipped in with six points and 11 rebounds.

Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Tereka Guyn, 5-8 Fr. Bailey Hawkins, 6-0 Jr. Iman Guy, 5-6 Jr. Danielle DeFoor, and 5-8 Sr. Laura Szorenyi. Madison Central trailed 28-26 at halftime but rallied for a 58-56 victory over Scott County. This was an excellent effort for a Scott County squad that has been decimated by injuries this season. Madison Central won the game at the free throw line as they held a 25-8 advantage in free throw points as Scott County was forced to foul late to regain the ball. Madison Central shot 31% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 25 of 39 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 31.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored three points off nine Madison Central turnovers. Scott County attempted 24 more shots (66-42) from the field than Madison Central.
Ashton Feldhaus led Madison Central with 26 points including four three point baskets and pulled down 13 rebounds. Larryn Brooks added 23 points including three three point baskets and 12 of 16 free throws and three assists. Shadae Bosley recorded six points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
Tereka Guyn led Scott County with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Laura Szorenyi added 22 points including three three point baskets. Danielle DeFoor recorded eight points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. Iman Guy pulled down 10 rebounds.

Dunbar held a 60-30 advantage on the boards in a 73-55 victory over Frankfort. Dunbar led 36-30 at halftime but pulled away in the second half for the victory. The Lady bulldogs connected on 20 of 28 free throws, pulled down 60 rebounds, and scored five points off six Frankfort turnovers. Frankfort shot 31.4% from the field including six of 26 from beyond the arc. The Lady Panthers connected on five of 13 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off 17 Dunbar turnovers.
Brooke Todd led Dunbar with 19 points, 17 rebounds, and four blocked shots. LaKeena Parks added 19 points and 15 rebounds. Shakeema Jackson chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. 5-4 Sr. Kierra Muhammad recorded nine points. Jordin Fender added eight points, five rebounds, and four assists. Lexus Edwards chipped in with seven points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Shauntae Brown led Frankfort with 18 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Shanae Brown added 12 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. 6-0 Fr. Brianna Burbridge and Kiana Russell chipped in with eight and seven points respectively.

Lafayette raced out to a 30-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 71-28 victory over Madison Southern. Lafayette shot 54.4% from the field including six of 11 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 19 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 21.7% from the field including two of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored four points off 10 Lafayette turnovers.
Dee Givens led Lafayette with 18 points, six assists, and four steals. Givens was eight of nine from the field including two of three from the three point line. Sarah Cooley added 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. 5-9 8th grade Kiara Pankins chipped in with 13 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds. Ken’yale Demus added 11 points and five assists. Ashanti Thomas recorded five points, seven rebounds, and seven blocked shots.
Hayden Westfall led Madison Southern with seven points and six rebounds. Briana Lanham added seven points and four rebounds. Samantha Parms chipped in with six points on two three point baskets and five rebounds.

Franklin County vs. Bryan Station (Girls)

Franklin County outscored Bryan Station 21-13 in the final quarter to earn a 56-51 victory. Less was more for the victorious Lady Flyers as they attempted 32 less shots (67-35) from the field than Bryan Station but outshot the Lady Defenders 51.4% to 29.9%. Both teams were relatively anemic from the free throw line with Franklin County connecting on 18 of 32 (56.3%) and Bryan Station going 11 of 24 (45.8%). Bryan Station also lost three players via the foul route; DeShante Clay, Hallie Crumbie, and Lakeysha Stennis.
Franklin County shot 51.4% from the field including two of nine from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 18 of 32 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Bryan Station turnovers. Bryan Station shot 29.9% from the field including zero of eight from beyond the arc. The Lady Defenders connected on 11 of 24 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Franklin County turnovers.
Malaka Frank led a balanced Franklin County attack with 13 points. Nannilena White added 12 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Raven Timmons chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds. Dasia Kilbourne added nine points.
Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 14 points. 5-9 Jr. Lakeysha Stennis added 12 points and seven rebounds. DeShante Clay chipped in with eight points and 11 rebounds. Victoria McCoy added eight points and five rebounds. Hallie Crumbie pulled down eight rebounds.

Lexington Catholic defeated Scott County 61-56 in overtime. Scott County was uncharacteristically cold from the field (33.8%) but battled hard the entire way before finally falling off the pace in overtime. Lexington Catholic raced out to an early 14-4 lead but Scott County raced back into contention with two lead changes and seven ties in the game. The score was tied 52-52 in overtime with 2:08 left on the clock when Tanner Johnson nailed a long three pointer to give Lexington Catholic a 55-52 lead. Johnson was carried off the floor with a twisted ankle and a cramp in his calf after the shot. Lexington Catholic held on down the stretch for a hard earned victory and a trip to the championship game.

The Knights connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Scott County turnovers. Lexington Catholic held a 12-0 advantage in bench scoring. Scott County shot 33.8% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 13 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Scott County attempted 23 more shots (68-45) from the field than Lexington Catholic.
Lexington Catholic was led by their inside-outside combination of Jack Whitman and Tanner Johnson. Whitman led the Knights with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Johnson added 18 points including four three point baskets and six rebounds. Jarod Griffin chipped in with nine points.
Quinn Richardson ends his Scott County basketball career with 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Trent Gilbert added 18 points including three three point baskets and three steals. Jalen Haddix chipped in with nine points and 10 rebounds. Deonte Doss pulled down nine rebounds.

Henry Clay led 56-52 with 3:04 left in the game but Madison Central finished the game on an 8-0 run. Ken-Jah Bosley gave Madison Central a 57-56 lead with a steal and layup with 50 seconds left in the game. Madison Central increased the lead to 59-56 and Daniel Parke pulled down a key rebound on a missed three point attempt by Henry Clay with 16 seconds left in the game.
Madison Central shot 39.6% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 11 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 48.9% from the field including six of 11 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils connected on four of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored eight points off six Madison Central turnovers.
Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central with 24 points and five rebounds. Ken-Jah Bosley added 18 points including two three point baskets. Quan Taylor chipped in with five points and 10 rebounds. Daniel Parke continues to make winning plays as he recorded six points on two three point baskets on the only two shots he attempted, four rebounds, and three assists.
Jordan Green led Henry Clay with 16 points and nine rebounds. 6-0 Jr. Teddy Ware added 12 points on four three point baskets. Christen Cunningham performed admirably on a sore ankle with eight points, four rebounds, and 10 assists. Trey Grundy recorded seven points and nine rebounds.

Madison Central pulled away late in the game to defeat Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 55-48. The score was tied four times and there were 12 lead changes tonight. The Lady Bulldogs did not have an answer for Larryn Brooks tonight as she scored 29 points in a variety of ways from long range three pointers to drives to the basket to pace Madison Central. Madison central shot 46.3% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off eight Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 34% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc. Lafayette shot 43.2% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on 25 of 33 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 20 Franklin County turnovers. Franklin County shot 30.9% from the field including one of 11 from beyond the arc. The Lady Flyers connected on 20 of 31 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 31 Lafayette turnovers.
Dee Givens led Lafayette with 24 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Ashanti Thomas added 12 points, six rebounds, and five blocked shots. 5-9 8th grade Kiara Pankins chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds. Sarah Cooley recorded seven points and nine rebounds.

The Indians connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 29.2% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored one point off three Madison central turnovers.

Madison Central led 18-6 in the second quarter but Lafayette rallied due to their tenacious rebounding to trail by two; 32-30 after three quarters. One of the keys of the game came when Madison Central’s Heather Hinkle was fouled on a three point attempt with the score 32-30 with 6:44 remaining in the game. Hinkle calmly connected on all three shots to give Madison Central a 35-30 lead and Lafayette could never catch up. Madison Central was 13 of 13 from the free throw line in the final quarter.
Madison Central shot 36.8% from the field including two of nine from the three point line. The Indians connected on 15 of 17 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored four points off nine Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 23.2% from the field including two of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Madison Central turnovers. Lafayette attempted 18 more shots (56-38) from the field than Madison Central. Lafayette held a 10-0 advantage in second effort points.
