Lincoln County vs. Lafayette

 

Lincoln County coach Jeff Jackson started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. BJ Hoover, 6-1 Sr. Brandon Pittman, 6-5 Sr. Jacob Conway, 5-9 Sr. Timmy Taylor, and 6-0 Sr. Neil Conley.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-2 Sr. Lucky Jackson, 5-10 So. Jajuante Carpenter, 6-6 Jr. Ross Jenkins, 5-9 Jr. Jaelin Jenkins, and 6-0 Jr. Harrison Lane.

 

Lincoln County trailed Lafayette 28-25 at halftime but outscored the Generals 19-8 in the third quarter on their way to a 61-55 victory.  The score was tied three times and there were three lead changes.  Lincoln County shot 44.2% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line.  The Patriots connected on 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored seven points off five Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 42.2% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored eight points off nine Lincoln County turnovers.

 

Jacob Conway led Lincoln County with 23 points and nine rebounds.  5-7 So. Noah Young added 14 points including three three point baskets.  Timmy Taylor recorded 12 points including nine of 10 free throws and five assists.
