St. John’s defeated the defending King of the Bluegrass champion 69-61 in overtime. St. John’s shot 42.3% from the field including one of 10 from the three point line. The Cadets connected on 24 of 35 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 15 Ballard turnovers. Ballard shot 28.6% from the field including eight of 28 from beyond the arc. The Bruins connected on 17 of 28 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 St. John’s turnovers.
Anthony Cowan Jr. led St. John’s with 22 points including 10 of 14 free throws and four steals. Kylia Sykes added 14 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals. Kris Saulny chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Bailey Rakes hit a layup in the closing seconds to give Bullitt East a 67-65 lead and Holmes’ James Bolden missed a three point attempt at the buzzer. Bullitt East shot 44.6% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line. The Chargers connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Holmes turnovers. Holmes shot 49.1% from the field including eight of 17 from beyond the arc.
