Collins coach Chris Gaither countered with 6-1 Sr. Deion Cochran, 6-0 Jr. Jakson Test, 6-4 Sr. Mark Sorrells, 5-10 Jr. Grant Clarkson, and 6-0 Sr. Grant Kidwell.
Owensboro utilized their size and inside play to defeat Collins by a score of 55-38. Owensboro shot 48.7% from the field including two of 13 from the three point line. The Red Devils 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Collins turnovers. Collins shot 35.6% from the field including five of 23 from beyond the arc. The Titans connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored two points off 12 Owensboro turnovers.
Justin Miller led Owensboro with 18 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Miller was six of six from the field and six of eight from the free throw line. Aric Holman added 15 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots. Darion Morrow recorded 15 points and four assists.
Brent Kidwell led Collins with 11 points and three assists. Mark Sorrells added nine points.

Hopkinsville scored 34 points off 19 Taylor County in a 76-64 victory. Hopkinsville shot 50.9% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line. The Tigers connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and held a 23-10 advantage in bench points. Taylor County shot 40.4% from the field including five of 12 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on 17 of 32 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored five points off 11 Hopkinsville turnovers.
Jaqualis Matlock led a balanced Hopkinsville scoring attack with 16 points and seven rebounds. LeDonald Gray added 11 points and six rebounds. Jordan Gary and CJ Henangan also scored 11 points. 6-2 Sr. AJ Tyler recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.
Quentin Goodin led Taylor County with 23 points including seven of 15 free throws, six rebounds, and four assists. David Sloan added 19 points and eight rebounds. Brandon Berry recorded eight points and six rebounds. 5-11 Sr. Cameron Morgeson also scored eight points.

Covington Catholic opened their defense of last year’s championship with a 64-43 victory over Campbell County. Campbell County led 18-14 after the first quarter but Covington Catholic outscored the Camels 50-25 the rest of the game. Covington Catholic shot 51.2% from the field including three of seven from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 19 of 29 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Campbell County turnovers. Campbell County shot 38.1% from the field including two of 14 from beyond the arc. The Camels connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored four points off 12 Covington Catholic turnovers.
Cole VonHandorf led Covington Catholic with 29 points. VonHandorf was 10 of 16 from the field including two of three from beyond the arc, and seven of nine free throws. Cooper Theobald added 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Andy Flood chipped in with 10 points.
Matt Wilson led Campbell County with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Wilson was six of six from the field and two of two free throws. Deondre Jackson added 11 points.

The Dragons connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 20 Williamsburg turnovers. Williamsburg shot 45.5% from the field including four of eight from beyond the arc. The Yellow Jackets connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Doss turnovers.
Terrell Gray led Doss with 24 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds. Dujuanta Weaver added 13 points, three assists, and five steals. Tyler Jefferson recorded six points, four rebounds, and four blocked shots. Jaylon Hall chipped in with seven points.
Skyler Griffith led Williamsburg with 19 points and seven rebounds. Corey Shelton also scored 19 points including two three point baskets. Andrew Griffith recorded six points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. Fred Massey chipped in with six points and six rebounds.

Ballard held a 20-4 advantage in second chance points. Ballard shot 40.5% from the field including five of 24 from the three point line. Ballard attempted 19 more shots (74-55) from the field than Johnson Central. The Bruins connected on 17of 33 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Johnson Central turnovers. Johnson Central shot 49.1% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc. The Golden Eagles connected on seven of 17 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Ballard turnovers.
Jalen Perry led Ballard with 23 points including two three point baskets and nine rebounds. Corey Douglas added 14 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Anthony Eaves also scored 14 points. Jamil Wilson recorded 13 points including two three point baskets and four assists.
Kyle Gullett led Johnson Central with 23 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Braxton Blair added 17 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Mason Blair recorded 12 points on four three point baskets.

Boyle County rallied from a 55-44 deficit with five minutes remaining to earn a 60-59 victory on a Jeremiah Bell layup with four seconds remaining on the clock. Lexington Catholic missed a chance to win with a missed shot at the buzzer. Lexington Catholic had a 60-59 lead and the ball with 30 seconds left but turned the ball over giving the Rebels the opportunity to claim the win. Lexington Catholic led by 14 points in the third quarter and actually led for 28:08 minutes of the game.
Boyle County shot 36.4% from the field including four of 21 from the three point line. The Rebels connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 13 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 50% from the field including six of 12 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored six points off four Boyle County turnovers.
Jeremiah Bell led Boyle County with 25 points including 12 of 18 free throws and pulled down seven rebounds. Hagen Tyler added 18 points and six rebounds. Chapman Bean chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and two steals.
Tanner Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 21 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds. Michael Talbott added 13 points and four assists. Jarod Griffin recorded eight points including two three point baskets and five rebounds. Reese Ryan recorded five points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.

Tucker Sine added 18 points including four three point baskets, eight rebounds, and four assists. Terry Taylor recorded 12 points. Perry Ayers chipped in with nine points and Malik Carothers dished out seven assists.
Chase Porter led Elliott County with 15 points including three three point baskets and five rebounds. 6-1 8th Grade Korbin Spencer added 11 points and Hunter Holbrook chipped in with nine points.

Owensboro coach Rod Drake countered with 6-9 Sr. Aric Holman, 6-1 Sr. Dylan Sanford, 6-7 Sr. Justin Miller, 5-9 Sr. Darion Morrow, and 5-10 So. Jacoby Harris.
Owensboro defeated Covington Catholic 69-65 in overtime. Owensboro led 55-52 in the closing seconds of regulation but Covington Catholic’s 6-1 Sr. Matthew Shumate hit a three point basket to knot the score at 55-55 and force overtime. This was a game of runs as Owensboro led 15-11 after the first quarter but Covington Catholic outscored the Red Devils 19-9 in the second quarter to take a 30-24 halftime lead. The Colonels maintained their advantage and led 42-36 after three quarters. Owensboro rallied late to take the lead before Shumate’s heroics forced overtime.
Owensboro shot 56.8% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line. The Red Devils connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and committed 16 turnovers. Covington Catholic shot 44.9% from the field including six of 15 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and committed 11 turnovers.
Justin Miller led Owensboro with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. Darion Morrow added 18 points including three three point baskets. Jacoby Harris chipped in with 14 points. Aric Holman recorded 11 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.
Cole VonHandorf led Covington Catholic with 21 points including three three point baskets. Bo Schuh added 15 points and five rebounds. Cooper Theobald recorded 14 points.

Bowling Green coach DG Sherrill started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Dane Drobocky, 6-2 Sr. Tucker Sine, 6-4 So. Terry Taylor, 6-0 Sr. Malik Carothers, and 6-2 Jr. Perry Ayers. Boyle County coach Steve Adams countered with 6-1 Sr. Hagen Tyler, 5-10 Sr. Chapman Bean, 6-5 Jr. Colton Elkins, 6-0 Sr. Keagen Hinkle, and 6-0 Sr. Jeremiah Bell.
Bowling Green defeated Boyle County by a score of 68-58 to end Boyle County’s magical state tournament run as the Rebels had previously defeated Lexington Catholic and upended the number one team in the state Ballard. Bowling Green’s super sophs (Terry Taylor, DeAngelo Wilson, and Kyran Jones) did the damage today as they combined for 47 points and 22 rebounds). The Purples controlled the boards today as they held a 42-21 advantage on the boards and a 20-9 advantage in second chance points.
Bowling Green shot 52% from the field including three of four from the three point line. The Purples connected on 13 of 23 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored eight points off six Boyle County turnovers. Boyle County shot 40.7% from the field including seven of 25 from beyond the arc. The Rebels connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Bowling Green turnovers.
5-9 So. DeAngelo Wilson led Bowling Green with 17 points. 6-4 So. Kyran Jones added 16 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Terry Taylor recorded 14 points and six rebounds.
Jeremiah Bell led Boyle County with 28 points including four three point baskets. Hagen Tyler added 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Colton Elkins recorded six points, six rebounds, and eight blocked shots.

Owensboro led 27-23 at halftime, and fueled by a 22-10 in the third quarter pulled away to defeat Bowling Green by a score of 74-58. Owensboro coach Rod Drake captured this title as a player now adds another championship as a coach. This was especially sweet for the senior class that was 8-20 as freshmen. This victory did not come without adversity as Tournament MVP Justin Miller played through a groin/hamstring injury. The Red Devils also were facing a team that they had narrowly defeated by scores of 79-71 OT and 69-66 earlier this season, Don’t weep for Coach DG Sherrill’s Purples but while they graduate two starters they return three starters plus star sophs DeAngelo Wilson and Kyran Jones.
Owensboro shot 52.1% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line. The Red Devils connected on 20 of 23 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored four points off six Bowling Green turnovers. Bowling Green shot 35.9% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc. The Purples connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 16 Bowling Green turnovers.
Dylan Sanford led Owensboro with 21 points including four three point baskets. Aric Holman added 20 points, 14 rebounds, and eight blocked shots. Jacoby Harris chipped in with 14 points and five assists. Justin Miller recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.
Terry Taylor led Bowling Green with 16 points and nine rebounds. Tucker Sine added nine points on three three point baskets and pulled down seven rebounds. 6-4 So. Kyran Jones recorded eight points and eight rebounds. 5-9 So. DeAngelo Wilson also scored eight points. Malik Carothers recorded seven point and five assists.
