Lexington Christian Academy vs. Tates Creek (Girls)

 

Lexington Christian Academy coach Kent Miller started the following lineup: 5-8 Fr. Grace Combs, 5-8 So. Payton Rodgers, 5-8 Jr. Charis Hill, 5-5 Sr. Hannah Sue Hartley, and 5-7 Jr. Sydney Weeks.  Tates Creek coach Jan Perkins countered with 5-7 Sr. Shaytara Wilson, 5-5 Fr. Shania Taylor, 5-10 Jr. Desirae Brown, 5-3 Jr. Nave Winn, and 5-4 Sr. Kira Turner.

 

Lexington Christian Academy defeated Tates Creek by a score of 51-48.  The score was tied five times and there were five lead changes in this game.  LCA shot 30.6% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 18of 22 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored six points off 10 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 30% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 LCA turnovers.

 

Grace Combs led LCA with 17 points including eight of ten free throws and four steals.  Sydney Weeks added 16 points including seven of eight free throws and seven rebounds.  Charis Hill recorded eight points and seven rebounds.  Payton Rodgers chipped in with five points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.

 

Shaytara Wilson led Tates Creek with 11 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  5-5 So. Tamira Watts also scored 11 points.  Nave Winn chipped in with seven points.

Lexington Christian Academy defeated Tates Creek by a score of 62-50.  LCA shot 45.7% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 12 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 26.5% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 21 LCA turnovers.

 

Kyle Rode led LCA with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.  6-6 Jr. Tre King added 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.  Trevor Hill recorded nine points on three three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists.

 

Eric Boone led Tates Creek with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, and six steals.  Decotah Fay added 11 points and six rebounds.  Isaiah Allen chipped in with eight points.

Lexington Catholic vs. Paul Laurence Dunbar (Girls)

 

Lexington Catholic coach Scott True started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Laken Pinkerman, 5-5 Fr. Jay Ballard, 5-9 Sr. Sarah Bonn, 5-5 So. Ashley Frebis, and 5-7 Sr. Caroline Osbourn.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Nick Runyon countered with 5-10 Jr. Autumn Herriford, 5-8 So. Anaiyah Cotton, 5-8 So. Peyton Humphreys, 5-4 So. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-7 Jr. Ella Sympson.

 

Lexington Catholic led 32-21 in the third quarter but Paul Laurence Dunbar outscored the Lady Knights 17-5 in the final quarter to earn a 45-41 come-from-behind victory.  The score was tied four times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Dunbar shot 42.5% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and recorded 11 points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 34.1% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Autumn Herriford led Dunbar with 20 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Mashayla Cecil added 13 points including six of six free throws.  Peyton Humphreys recorded six points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Anaiyah Cotton chipped in with six points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Caroline Osbourn led Lexington Catholic with 13 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.  5-6 So. Maya Jazdzewski added eight points,  Jay Ballard and Laken Pinkerman scored seven points each.

Lafayette defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 55-48.  Lafayette shot 45.9% from the field including seven of 20 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 14 of 24 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 34.6% from the field including five of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Harrison Lane led Lafayette with 21 points including five three point baskets and five rebounds.  Lane was six of nine from the field including five of eight from beyond the arc and four of five free throws.  Chris Wharton added 13 points and four assists.  Ross Jenkins recorded 11 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  6-0 Jr. Cameron Greenup chipped in with 10 points.

 

Zan Payne led Lexington Catholic with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals.  Luke Johnson added 14 points, six rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  TC Price recorded nine points on three three point baskets.

Lafayette defeated Lexington Christian Academy 53-20.  Lafayette shot 28.85 from the field including three of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 22 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 12.5% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 16 points including 12 of 16 free throws, eight rebounds, 11 blocked shots, and two steals.  Lindi DeBilzan added nine points and four rebounds.  Caroline Bennett recorded six points, 11 rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  Aisha Conwell chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.  5-9 So. Tekiya Gar-Carter added six points, five rebounds, and five steals.

 

5-2 8th Grade Jaylin McClanahan led LCA with six points.  Sydney Weeks and Grace Combs added five points each.  Charis Hill recorded four points and seven rebounds.  Payton Rodgers pulled down eight rebounds.

Paul Laurence Dunbar raced out to a 21-12 first quarter lead on their way to a 71-56 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  Dunbar shot 44% from the field including nine of 20 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 18 of 23 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 17 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 51.2% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on seven of seven free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored seven points off four Dunbar turnovers.

 

Taveion Hollingsworth led Dunbar with 24 points including three three point baskets and seven of eight free throws.  Darius Williams added 21 points including four three point baskets.  Jordan Lewis recorded 13 points, five assists, and four steals.  Dontell Brown chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

 

Kyle Rode led LCA with 24 points including four three point baskets, nine rebounds, and five assists.  Trevor Hill added 12 points, three rebounds, and four assists.  Tre King recorded nine points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Lafayette defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 61-45.  The score was tied 24-24 at halftime but Lafayette shot 58.3% from the field after the intermission compared to 18.8% for Dunbar.  Lafayette shot 45.1% from the field including two of five from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 25.9% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 33 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Terri Abram added 12 points , four rebounds, and seven assists.  Lindi DeBilzan recorded 10 points, four assists, and three blocked shots.  Caroline Bennett chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Aisha Conwell added six points and nine rebounds.

 

Mashayla Cecil led Dunbar with 22 points including four three point baskets.  Autumn Herriford added 17 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two locked shots.  Anaiyah Cotton pulled down 14 rebounds.

Paul Laurence Dunbar finally pulled away in the closing minutes of the game to defeat Lafayette by a score of 53-48.  The score was tied seven times and there were 10 lead changes in this game.  Dunbar shot 43.6% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 15 of 16 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 45,2% from the field including four of nine from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Taveion Hollingsworth led Dunbar with 20 points including two three point baskets.  Darius Williams added 15 points and six rebounds.  Dontell Brown recorded seven points, 11 rebounds, five blocked shots, and three steals.  Jordan Lewis chipped in with six points and six assists.

 

Chris Wharton led Lafayette with 16 points.  Jaelin Jenkins added eight points.  6-0 Jr. Cameron Greenup chipped in with seven points.  Ross Jenkins recorded six points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.
