Berea vs. Madison Southern (Girls)
Berea coach Casie Ingram started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Alex Horn, 5-8 Sr. Allie Maynard, 6-0 Fr. Adrienne Beggs, 5-7 Sr. Hailee Varwig, and 5-5 Jr. Jordan Sandefur. Madison Southern coach Summer Simmons countered with 5-10 Sr. Briana Lanham, 5-7 Jr. Keri Thorn, 5-11 Jr. Hannah Keene, 5-6 So. Ashlynn Clark, and 5-9 Jr. Meredith Gallion.
Madison Southern raced out to an early lead and was never threatened in a 68-33 victory over Berea. Madison Southern shot 38.1% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line. Madison Southern attempted 26 more shots (63-37) than Berea. The Lady Eagles connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 18 Berea turnovers. Berea shot 27% from the field including zero of four from beyond the arc. The Lady Pirates connected on 13 of 15 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Madison Southern turnovers.
Ashlynn Clark led Madison Southern with 22 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Clark was eight of 12 from the field including one of one from beyond the arc and five of six free throws. Brianna Lanham added 17 points, 19 rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Meredith Gallion recorded nine points on three three point baskets and five rebounds.
Jordan Sandefur led Berea with 21 points including seven of eight free throws. Alex Horn added four points, three rebounds, and two steals.

Madison Southern exploded for 31 points in the second quarter to take a 45-19 halftime lead on their way to an 83-41 victory over Berea. Madison Southern shot 57.9% from the field including nine of 20 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on eight of 17 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 20 Berea turnovers. Berea shot 37.8% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc. The Pirates connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored four points off seven Madison Southern turnovers.
Tanner Kidwell led a balanced Madison Southern scoring attack with 13 points. Michael Jefferson added 11 points, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Caleb Miller chipped in with 10 points and three steals. 5-11 So. Landen Stacy recorded nine points and four rebounds. Stacy Burns also scored nine points.
Deondre Tate led Berea with 19 points and five rebounds. Shyiem Alexander added 10 points. Derek Castle recorded six points and six assists.

Model vs. Madison Central (Girls)
Model coach Candace Wells started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Emily Jackson, 5-7 Jr. Mallory Smith, 6-1 Fr. Lauren Jackson, 5-0 Fr. Savanna Gullett, and 5-7 Jr. Sydney Claypoole. Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-10 Jr. Lindsey Johns, 5-8 Jr. Kasi Schneid, 6-0 Jr. Mallie Cornett, 5-5 So. Bailee Vanover, and 5-5 Sr. Emily Willoughby.
Madison Central outscored Model 20-5 in the first quarter on their way to a 58-21 victory. Madison Central recorded 19 steals and nine blocked shots and scored 25 points off 25 Model turnovers. Madison Central shot 41.9% from the field including one of nine from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on five of 13 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and held a 16-2 advantage in bench points. Model shot 17.1% from the field including zero of three from beyond the arc. The Lady Patriots connected on seven of 17 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored two points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.
Kasi Schneid led Madison Central with 14 points. Bailee Vanover added 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals. 5-11 Fr. Anslee Wood recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. Lindsey Johns chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, three assists, and five steals. Mallie Cornett added six points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.
Lauren Jackson led Model with eight points, 11 rebounds, and four steals. Mallory Smith added five points and four rebounds. Sydney Claypoole recorded four points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Emily Jackson chipped in with two points and eight rebounds.

Madison Central held a 33-9 advantage in three point points in a 70-47 victory over Model. Madison Central shot 43.9% from the field including 11 of 22 from the three point line. The Indians connected on nine of 19 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored six points off seven Model turnovers. Model shot 29.4% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc. The Patriots connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored four points off six Madison Central turnovers.
Grant Brockman led Madison Central with 25 points including seven three point baskets and six rebounds. John Williams added 17 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists. Terique Miller recorded 14 points, four rebounds, and seven assists.
Ephraim Otieno led Model with 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Alex Chen added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Madison Central vs. Madison Southern (Girls) (Championship)
Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Lindsey Johns, 5-8 Jr. Kasi Schneid, 6-0 Jr. Mallie Cornett, 5-5 So. Bailee Vanover, and 5-5 Sr. Emily Willoughby. Madison Southern coach Summer Simmons countered with 5-10 Sr. Briana Lanham, 5-7 Jr. Keri Thorn, 5-11 Jr. Hannah Keene, 5-6 So. Ashlynn Clark, and 5-9 Jr. Meredith Gallion.
Madison Southern led 30-22 early in the third quarter but Madison Central rallied for a 46-42 victory. Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey made an adjustment after halftime and had Bailee Vanover shadowing Madison Southern star Briana Lanham limiting her to four points after halftime. This was sweet revenge for the “tough-as-nails” Vanover who had a rough outing against Madison Southern in a district tournament loss last year.
Madison Central shot 47.5% from the field including two of five from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 27.7% from the field including eight of 24 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on 29 rebounds, and scored five points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.
Bailee Vanover led Madison central with 13 points and five rebounds. Mallie Cornette added 12 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. Lindsey Johns recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
Briana Lanham led Madison Southern with 15 points and nine rebounds. Meredith Gallion added 12 points on four three point baskets. Hannah Keene recorded seven points and nine rebounds. Ashlynn Clark chipped in with five points, three rebounds, and six assists.

Madison Central captured their 21st consecutive district championship tonight with a 42-41 victory over Madison Southern but not without high drama. Madison Southern led 41-37 early in the final quarter but shortly after the tide turned as Madison Southern was flagged with an intentional foul and a technical foul on the same play and Madison Central’s Terique Miller connected on three of four free throws to cut the deficit to one point 41-40 and Madison Central later pulled away for the eventual victory. Madison Southern had the ball with 12.6 seconds but Madison Central ratcheted up the defense and Griffen Gabbard was forced to take a contested shot with three seconds remaining that rolled off the rim. Madison Southern did not score for the last 7:41 of the quarter. Madison Central’s Isaiah Cozart was key on defense tonight as he blocked two shots in the later minutes of the game.
Madison Central shot 30.6% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 17 of 28 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 32.7% from the field including two of five from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.
Terique Miller led Madison Central with 11 points including seven of eight free throws and five rebounds. Grant Brockman added 10 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds. Isaiah Cozart recorded seven points, 12 rebounds, and seven blocked shots. John Williams chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds. Dakota Begley added seven points and five rebounds.
Caleb Miller led Madison Southern with 14 points including two three point baskets. Tanner Kidwell added 11 points and eight rebounds. Michael Jefferson recorded six points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
