Fairdale vs. Tates Creek (Girls)  Game #1

 

Fairdale coach Marco Price started the following lineup: 5-7 Fr. Kalia Goode, 5-7 Fr. Jaida Wiggins, 5-9 8th Grade Janaesha Jefferson, 5-3 Fr. Miyana Foree, and 5-5 Jr. Valerie Johnson.  Tates Creek coach Jan Perkins countered with 5-7 Sr. Shaytara Wilson, 5-4 Jr. Carolyn Nsimpasi, 5-10 Jr. Desirae Brown, 5-3 Jr. Nave Winn, and 5-3 Jr. LaTaya Winn.

 

Fairdale defeated Tates Creek in a game that featured several “runs” by both teams.  Tates Creek raced out to a 9-0 run but Fairdale rallied to earn a 10-10 tie after one quarter.  Fairdale unleashed a three point barrage in the second quarter (four threes) to take a 32-18 at the intermission.  Tates Creek cut into the lead in the second half but Fairdale held on for the victory.

 

Jaida Wiggins led Fairdale with 21 points including three three point baskets.  Miyana Foree was named Game MVP and scored 13 points including three three point baskets all but two of the points in the decisive second quarter.6-0 Sr. Deasia Johnson chipped in with eight points.

 

Shaytara Wilson led Tates Creek with 12 points.  Nave Winn added 11 points.  LaTaya Winn and 5-5 So. Tamira Watts each scored seven points.

North Bullitt vs. Lafayette (Girls)  Game #2

 

North Bullitt coach David Marion started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Devyn Tompkins, 5-7 Fr. Katie Milby, 5-6 So. Hailey Free, 5-7 Sr. Krista Sutherland, and 5-5 Sr. Erin Dolan.  (5-9 Jr. Lauren Deel missed tonight due to an injury and Katie Downey did not start because of an injury).  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 Fr. Lindi DiBilzan, 5-8 So. Caroline Bennett, 5-11 Jr. Kiara Pankins, 5-6 So. Terry Abram, and 5-8 8th Grade Shelbi Wilson.

 

North Bullitt led 27-17 at halftime but Lafayette rallied to earn a 56-55 overtime victory.  The score was tied seven times and there were 12 lead changes in this game.  Lafayette shot 50% from the field including three of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 15 of 25 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored eight points off 12 North Bullitt turnovers.  North Bullitt shot 33.8% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 23 Lafayette turnovers.  North Bullitt attempted 27 more shots (65-38) from the field than Lafayette.

 

Kiara Pankins was named Game MVP and led Lafayette with 22 points, seven rebounds, six blocked shots, and three steals.  Shelbi Wilson added 15 points.  5-10 Sr. Aisha Conwell recorded six points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

 

5-5 Sr. Katie Downey gave a courageous effort playing through an injury and leading North Bullitt with 11 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and five steals.  Hailey Free added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Erin Dolan recorded 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and seven steals.  5-8 So. Caroline Janes chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy vs. Western Hills (Girls)  Game No #3

 

Lexington Christian Academy coach Kent Miller started the following lineup: 5-8 Fr. Grace Combs, 5-8 So. Payton Rodgers, 5-8 Jr. Charis Hill, 5-5 Sr. Hannah Sue Hartley, and 5-7 Jr. Sydney Weeks.  Western Hills coach Raymond Ritchie Jr. countered with 5-7 Jr. Kayla Hortenbury, 5-7 So. Katherine Mangeot, 5-11 Sr. Taylor Slade, 5-3 So. Alexis True, and 5-6 Sr. Lakenzie Ritchie.

 

Western Hills raced out to an 18-3 first quarter lead on their way to a 58-26 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  Western Hills shot 43.6% from the field including three of 16 from the three point line.  The Wolverines connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 16 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 23.8% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on two of six free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored four points off 11 Western Hills turnovers.

 

Taylor Slade was named Game MVP and led Western Hills with 19 points and eight rebounds.  Kayla Hortenbury added 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Lakenzie Ritchie recorded eight points and four assists.  Alexis True added two points, six rebounds, and nine assists.

 

Grace Combs led LCA with nine points including two three point baskets.  Hannah Sue Hartley added six points.

Kailee Rash.  Bullitt Central coach Kyle Roach countered with 5-8 Sr. Belle Leonard. 5-8 So. Sierra Graham, 6-2 Sr. Shelby Fleener, 5-6 Sr. Kassi Gilbert, and 5-7 Sr. Courtney Johns.

 

Belfry raced out to a 15-6 first quarter lead but Bullitt Central rallied to defeat the Lady Pirates by a score of 52-38.  Sierra Gilbert was named Game MVP and led Bullitt Central with 16 points, 14 coming in the second half.  5-6 Sr. Bethany Peercy and Belle Leonard added 10 and nine points respectively.  Shelby Fleener recorded seven points and 14 rebounds.

 

Lena Hairston led Belfry with 11 points.  Kailee Rash added 10 points.  Lyndsey Miller chipped in with eight points.

Lexi Held, and 5-9 Jr. Hailey Anderson.  Meade County coach Whitney Hooper countered with 5-9 Sr. Lauren Claycomb, 5-9 Sr. Marissa Galimore, 6-0 Jr. Maggie Millay, 5-6 Sr. Emma Wilson, and 5-5 Sr. Katie Wilson.

 

Cooper defeated Meade County by a score of 69-47.  Hailey Anderson was named Game MVP and led Cooper 1ith 28 points.  Lexi Held added 22 points.

 

Lauren Claycomb led Meade County with 13 points.  Maggie Millay and 5-9 8th Grade Kendall Wingler added nine points each.

North Hardin coach Darryl Murray started the following lineup: 5-6 Jr. Sydney Coleman, 5-5 Sr. Dezarae Macklin, 5-9 Fr. TeDeja Marshall, 5-3 Sr. Tamiah Stanford, and 5-5 Jr. Devonna Daniel.  Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford countered with 5-8 So. Cheyenne Jones, 5-8 So. Braxton Price, 5-11 Sr. Nakeisha Green, 5-6 Sr. T’Laya Lyvers, and 5-7 Fr. Kiya Thompson.

 

Henry Clay controlled the boards, holding an 18-4 advantage in second chance points on their way to a 56-37 victory over North Hardin.  Henry Clay shot 36.5% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 16 of 24 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 26 North Hardin turnovers.  North Hardin shot 32.3% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Trojans connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 17 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 23 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

T’Laya Lyvers was named Game MVP and led Henry Clay with 13 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.  Kiya Thompson and 5-8 Jr. Lexi Long added eight points each.

 

TeDeja Marshall led North Hardin with 13 points, four rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Tamiah Stanford and Sydney Coleman added 10 and eight points respectively.

Mallory Schwartz, 6-2 Sr. Aimee Jump, 5-8 8th Grade Maddie Scherr, and 5-8 Sr. Madison Jones.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-10 Jr. Rebecca Cook, 5-9 Sr. Dasia Kilbourne, 5-9 Sr. Malaka Frank, 5-8 Jr. Princess Stewart, and 5-9 Sr. Anna Arrastia.

 

Ryle knocked Franklin County from the ranks of the undefeated with a 70-63 victory.. Ryle took a 29-14 lead at halftime and survived a second half rally by the Lady Flyers.  Ryle shot 40.5% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The lady Raiders connected on 24 of 32 free throws and pulled down 35 rebounds.  Franklin County shot 35.3% from the field including 11 of 34 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on four of eight free throws and pulled down 40 rebounds.

 

Mallory Schwartz was named Game MVP and led Ryle with 20 points and 16 rebounds.  Madison Jones added 15 points.  Carly Lange also reached double figures with 11 points.  Maddie Scherr and Aimee Jump chipped in with nine and eight points respectively.

 

Princess Stewart led Franklin County with 19 points including five three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Anna Arrastia added 15 points on five three point baskets.  Malaka Frank also scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds.  Rebecca Cook pulled down 10 rebounds.

Ally Niece, 6-2 Jr. Madi Meier, 5-3 Jr. Kendyl Gilliam, and 5-4 8th Grade Morgan Stamper.  Mercer County coach Chris Souder countered with 5-8 Jr. Lyric Houston, 5-9 So. Faith Lake, 6-1 So. Emmy Souder, 5-7 So. Lexy Lake, and 5-8 So. Seygan Robbins.

 

Mercer County defeated Simon Kenton by a score of 62-53.  Mercer County shot 45.7% from the field including six of 21 from the three point line.  The lady Titans connected on 14 of 18 free throws and pulled down 22 rebounds.  Simon Kenton shot 38% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pioneers connected on 13 of 19 free throws and pulled down 33 rebounds.

 

5-10 So. Emma Davis came off the bench to spark Mercer County and was named Game MVP and scored 12 points.  Seygan Robbins and Emmy Souder led Mercer County with 19 and 18 points respectively.

 

Ally Niece led Simon Kenton with 26 points and eight rebounds.  Morgan Stamper added eight points.  Megan Buckner recorded seven points and 11 rebounds.  Madi Meier also scored seven points.
