St. Joseph coach Shannon Lewis started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Tyesha Taylor, 5-5 So. Haylee Hunter, 5-8 So. Alexis Hall, 5-6 Sr. Mychelle Johnson, and 5-7 Fr. Paige Shy. Incarnate Word coach Don Rolfes countered with 6-1 Sr. Abbey Hoff, 5-11 Fr. Kiki Britzmann, 6-3 Fr. Rickie Woltman, 5-8 Sr. Katie Lacefield, and 5-9 So. Sonya Morris.
St. Joseph led 40-34 after three quarters but Incarnate Word outscored the Irish 19-4 in the final quarter to earn a 53-44 victory. The score was tied four times and there were three lead changes in the game. Incarnate Word shot 45% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line. The Red Knights connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 16 St. Joseph turnovers. St. Joseph shot 34.8% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc. The Irish connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 Incarnate Word turnovers.
Rickie Woltman led Incarnate Word with 18 points and five rebounds. Woltman was seven of seven from the field and four of five from the free throw line. Abbey Hoff added 12 points and five rebounds. 6-0 Sr. Sam Cooke recorded eight points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. Kate Lacefield chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, and three assists. Kiki Britzmann added seven points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Tyesha Taylor led St. Joseph with 16 points and seven rebounds. Paige Shy and Alexis Hall each recorded nine points. Mychelle Johnson added seven points and four assists.

Rogers outscored Mercy Academy 17-6 in the second quarter on their way to a 49-40 victory over Mercy Academy. Rogers shot 42.5% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line. The Lady Rams connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 Mercy Academy turnovers. Mercy academy shot 23.3% from the field including five of 27 from beyond the arc. The Jaguars connected on seven of 14 free throws, and scored 15 points off 21 Rogers turnovers. Mercy Academy attempted 20 more shots (60-40) from the field than Rogers.
6-2 Sr. Sydney Petty led Rogers with 13 points including three three point baskets and eight rebounds. Akienreh Johnson added 11 points and five rebounds. Keasja Peace recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and six blocked shots. Tanaya Beacham chipped in with nine points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots. Zia Cooke added six points and seven rebounds.
Josie Woods led Mercy Academy with 12 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds. Maddi Woods added nine points, four assists, and four steals. 6-0 Jr. Camryn Muss recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

St. Joseph defeated Christian Academy of Louisville by a score of 75-48. St. Joseph shot 53.8% from the field including 11 of 23 from the three point line. The Irish connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 18 CAL turnovers. CAL shot 27.1% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc. The Lady Centurions connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 21 St. Joseph turnovers.
Paige Shy led St. Joseph with 22 points including six three point baskets, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Shy was eight of 10 from the field including six of seven from beyond the arc and did not attempt a free throw. Tyesha Taylor added 15 points and seven rebounds. Alexis Hall also scored 15 points including two three point baskets. Haylee Hunter pulled down eight rebounds.
Emma Wesley led CAL with 20 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and two steals. Emma Bowman added 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Shelby Calhoun recorded seven points, eight rebounds, and two steals.

Elizabethtown raced out to a 21-9 lead early in the second quarter but Rogers fueled by their superiority on the boards (42-24) and an 18-0 advantage in second chance points rallied for a 52-48 victory. Rogers shot 35.7% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line. The Lady Rams connected on seven of 16 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine Elizabethtown turnovers. Elizabethtown shot 41% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Panthers connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Rogers turnovers.
Tanaya Beacham led Rogers with 16 points and nine rebounds. Zia Cooke added 14 points including two three point baskets. Keasja Peace recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots. Akienreh Johnson chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, and eight assists. 6-2 Sr. Sydney Petty pulled down 11 rebounds.
Erin Boley led Elizabethtown with 25 points including four three point baskets and 11 rebounds. Jada Stinson added 13 points and five assists.

Mercy Academy led by Josie Woods’ seven three point baskets defeated Highlands by a score of 56-42. Mercy Academy shot 38.8% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 26 Highlands turnovers. Highlands shot 31.9% from the field including four of 21 from beyond the arc. The Bluebirds connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Mercy Academy turnovers.
Josie Woods led Mercy Academy with 21 points on seven three point baskets, six rebounds, and three steals. 6-2 So. Danielle Feldkamp added nine points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. Camryn Muss recorded eight points, three rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.
Zoie Barth led Highlands with 17 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and four steals. McKenzie Leigh added eight points, eight rebounds, two blocked shots, and five steals. Brianna Adler chipped in with seven points.

Saturday I observed the Raatz Fence/O'Shea's Girls Classic at Mercy Academy in Louisville, KY. Inclement weather reduced the schedule from 11 games over two days to 6 games over two days. Below were the top players based on college potential.

A shout out to Mercy coach Keith Baisch and his staff for managing to get as many games in as possible this weekend. Inclement weather conditions and school travel policies pared the schedule from eleven games to six games but there were quality teams and outstanding players present. A special thanks to Bob Tonini of Sacred Heart Academy for sending out timely updates on the schedule changes and for providing the comprehensive statistics for all the games.
