Franklin-Simpson vs. Fairdale

 

Franklin-Simpson coach Dee Spencer started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Tavin Lovan, 6-2 Sr. Daelon Payne, 6-5 Sr. Dakota Thomas, 5-10 Sr. Carlesso Doaks, and 6-1 Sr. Trey Radcliffe.  Fairdale coach David Hicks countered with 6-0 Sr. Seth Dewboys, 6-0 Jr. Markelo Sullivan, 6-1 Jr. Craig Ash, 5-10 Jr. Glenn Queen, and 5-11 Sr. Treziuan Allen.

 

Franklin-Simpson defeated Fairdale by a score of 94-64.  Franklin-Simpson shot 70% from the field including 10 of 13 from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 18 Fairdale turnovers.  Fairdale shot 43.1% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Franklin-Simpson turnovers.

 

Tavin Lovan led Franklin-Simpson with 24 points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots, and five steals.  Carlesso Doaks added 19 points including five three point baskets.  Trey Radcliffe recorded 17 points and six assists.

 

Glenn Queen led Fairdale with 17 points including eight of eight free throws.  Markelo Sullivan added 11 points.  6-4 Sr. Isaiah Roby recorded eight points and six rebounds.

David Johnson, 6-2 Sr. Lukas Burkman, and 6-4 Fr. Justin Powell.

 

Lukas Burkman hit a fast break layup at the buzzer to give Trinity a 55-53 victory over Cooper.  There were five lead changes and six ties in this game.  Trinity shot 47.6% from the field including eight of 21 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off eight Cooper turnovers.  Cooper shot 43.6% from the field including eight of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Trinity turnovers.

 

6-5 Jr. Jayden Scrubb led Trinity with 19 points including two three point baskets.  Lukas Burkman added 14 points including two three point baskets.

Ballard raced out to a 20-4 lead and withstood Dunbar’s attempt at a comeback to earn a 67-58 victory.  Ballard shot 40% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on 24 of 35 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 20 Dunbar turnovers.  Paul Laurence Dunbar shot 44.2% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on 18 of 27 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.

 

Jamil Wilson led Ballard with 17 points including 10 of 16 free throws and four rebounds.  Clivonte Patterson added 15 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists.  Antoine Darby recorded 12 points including two three point baskets. 

 

Taveion Hollingsworth led Paul Laurence Dunbar with 26 points including eight of nine free throws, four rebounds, and three steals.  JaQuice Gray and Jared Gadd each scored nine points.

Allatoona raced out to a 22-7 first quarter on their way to a 68-56 victory over Saint Rita of Cascia.  Allatoona shot 45.2% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line.  The Buccaneers connected on 24 of 36 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 25 Saint Rita of Cascia turnovers.  Saint Rita of Cascia shot 32.8% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Mustangs connected on 13 of 23 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 27 Allatoona turnovers.

 

Trey Doomes led Allatoona with 18 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Tyler Jackson added 11 points including two three point baskets.  6-6 Jr. Tobi Adeyeye recorded 10 points and six rebounds.

Anthony Wales led Fern Creek with 23 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Chance Moore added 20 points including nine of nine free throws and four rebounds.

Ballard coach Chris Renner started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Dorion Tisby, 5-11 Sr. Antoine Darby, 6-4 Sr. Clivonte Patterson, 5-9 Sr. Jamil Wilson, and 5-10 Jr. Tyron Duncan.  Bowling Green coach DG Sherrill countered with 6-6 Sr. Terry Taylor, 5-10 Jr. Jay Buser, 6-6 Sr. Kyran Jones, 5-10 8th Grade Zion Harmon, and 5-10 Sr. Deangelo Wilson.

 

Ballard led Bowling Green 34-18 in the second quarter but the Purples rallied to earn a 69-67 victory.  The score was tied five times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Ballard had a final chance to tie the game but missed a lay up in the final seconds.  Bowling Green shot 51.25 from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Purples connected on 21 of 32 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored six points off 12 Ballard turnovers.  Ballard shot 38.1% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Bruins connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 24 Bowling Green turnovers.

 

Zion Harmon led Bowling Green with 19 points including two three point baskets, 11 of 12 free throws, and five rebounds.  Terry Taylor added 15 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Deangelo Wilson chipped in with 12 points.  Kyran Jones recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Jamil Wilson led Ballard with 23 points including six of eight free throws.  Clivonte Patterson added 22 points including two three point baskets, 11 rebounds, four assists, four blocked shots, and three steals.

Trinity trailed 35-27 at halftime but outscored Covington Catholic 23-6 in the third quarter on their way to a 70-60 victory.  The score was tied three times and there were two lead changes in the game.  Trinity shot 56.4% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on 18 of 21 free throws, pulled down 16 points off 13 Covington Catholic turnovers.  Covington Catholic shot 505 from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 12 of 13 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 Trinity turnovers.

 

David Johnson led Trinity with 21 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Lukas Burkman added 18 points including three three point baskets and six of six free throws.  6-5 Jr. Jayden Scrubb chipped in with 10 points and three blocked shots.

 

Cole VonHandorf led Covington Catholic with 21 points and four rebounds.  CJ Fredrick added 19 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  AJ Mayer recorded 13 points including seven of seven free throws, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

Trinity defeated Berkmar (GA) by a score of 73-69 in a game that was characterized by runs by both teams.  The score was tied three times and there were three lead changes in this contest.  Trinity shot 61% from the field including 11 of 19 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off eight Berkmar turnovers.  Berkmar (GA) shot 43.9% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc.  Berkmar attempted 16 more shots (57-41) from the field than Trinity.  The Patriots connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Trinity turnovers.

 

6-5 Jr. Jayden Scrubb led Trinity with 16 points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Lukas Burkman also scored 16 points including four three point baskets.  David Johnson recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.  David Burton added 10 points and nine rebounds and  Justin Powell also reached double figures with 10 points. 

 

Al Durham led Berkmar (GA) with 30 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds.  Zach Cooks added 19 points including three three point baskets and six steals.  Jay Estime recorded 11 points.
