Union City (24-4) vs. Wood Memorial (27-1) Class A Championship

Union City coach Sarah Black started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Baylee Hartman, 5-7 Sr. Kelsey Zimmers, 6-1 Sr. Courtney Wise, 5-1 Jr. Justiss Cantu, and 5-5 Sr. Kora Kerns. Wood Memorial coach Johnnie Bartley countered with 5-8 Sr. Sydney Day, 5-7 Sr. Brenna Maikranz, 6-0 Jr. Lexi Lashbrook, 5-3 Sr. Carsen Robinson, and 5-6 Sr. Chloe Bartley.

Wood Memorial utilized a 22-7 advantage in the final quarter to ensure their 68-43 victory over Union City to earn the first championship of any sport for Wood Memorial. Wood Memorial shot 42.9% from the field including one of two from the three point line. The Trojans connected on 25 of 34 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 17 Union City turnovers. Wood Memorial held a 20-2 advantage in second chance points. Union City shot 33.3% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Wood Memorial turnovers. Union City was whistled for 24 fouls while Wood Memorial was only charged with 10 fouls.

Brenna Maikranz led Wood Memorial with 26 points including 10 of 14 free throws and three steals. Carsen Robinson added 16 points. Sydney Day recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. Chloe Bartley added eight points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Lexi Lashbrook chipped in with seven points, 12 rebounds, and five steals.

Justiss Cantu led Wood Memorial with 18 points including two three point baskets and four assists. Kelsey Zimmers added eight points and four rebounds. 5-1 Jr. Ellie Kerns also scored eight points. Courtney Wise recorded seven points. Baylee Hartman pulled down six rebounds and blocked three shots.

Oak Hill (27-1) vs. Eastern (Pekin) (22-7) Class 2A Championship

Oak Hill coach Todd Law started the following lineup: 6-0 So. Adrianna Trexler, 5-8 So. Kaela Robey, 6-1 Fr. Taylor Westgate, 5-3 Jr. Kristin Dubois, and 5-7 So. Jenessa Hasty. Eastern (Pekin) coach Michael McBride countered with 5-10 Sr. Taylor Drury, 5-9 Jr. Rachel Stewart, 5-10 Jr. Savannah Emmert, 5-5 Sr. Veronica Judson, and 5-5 Fr. Isabell Claywell.

Oak Hill tied the game 22-22 in the third quarter but Eastern rallied to pull away for a 42-31 victory giving them their first state championship. The score was tied four times and there were five lead changes in the game. Eastern shot 41.9% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line. The Musketeers connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Oak Hill turnovers. Oak Hill shot 29.4% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc. The Golden Eagles connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Eastern turnovers.

Rachel Stewart led Eastern with 20 points, four rebounds, four blocked shots, and five steals. Taylor Drury added nine points and six rebounds. Isabell Claywell also recorded nine points and six rebounds.

Jenessa Hasty led Oak Hill with 13 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds. Taylor Westgate added six points and eight rebounds. Kaela Robey chipped in with six points and seven rebounds. Adrianna Trexler recorded six points and five steals.

South Bend St. Joseph (25-2) vs. North Harrison (27-2) Class 3A Championship

South Bend St. Joseph coach Sydney Smallbone started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Abby O’Connor, 5-11 Fr. Keegan Sullivan, 6-0 Sr. Killian Mountford, 5-9 Sr. Nicole Konieczny, and 5-10 Sr. Daly Sullivan. North Harrison coach Missy Voyles countered with 5-8 Jr. Cali Nolot, 5-6 Sr. Stevi Burns, 6-1 So. Lilly Hatton, 5-6 Jr. Taylor Rennirt, and 5-6 Jr. Hallie Hinton.

South Bend St. Joseph closed out the first half on a 13-2 run to take a 28-18 lead on their way to a 57-49 victory over North Harrison. Coach Sydney Smallbone becomes the first to win titles as both a player and a coach. The score was tied four times and there were four lead changes in this game. South Bend St. Joseph shot 36.5% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 14 of 25 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 North Harrison turnovers. North Harrison shot 30.5% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cats connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored three points off 15 South Bend St. Joseph turnovers.

Daly Sullivan led the victors with 21 points including three three point baskets. Nicole Konieczny added nine points. Abby O’Connor recorded eight points, eight rebounds, five assists, five blocked shots, and two steals. Keegan Sullivan recorded seven points and 12 rebounds. Killian Mountford added seven points and 10 rebounds.

Cali Nolot led North Harrison with 27 points including three three point baskets and 10 rebounds. Lilly Hatton added 11 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocked shots.

Homestead (27-2) vs. Pike (24-3) Class 4A Championship

Homestead coach Rod Parker started the following lineup: 6-0 So. Haley Swing, 5-8 Sr. Teryn Kline, 6-0 So. Jazmyne Geist, 5-8 Sr. Madisen Parker, and 5-8 Sr. Karissa McLaughlin. Puke coach Bob Anglea countered with 5-11 Jr. Kinnidy Garrard, 5-8 Jr. Angel Baker, 6-0 Jr. Michaela White, 5-5 Sr. LaRae Rascoe, and 5-8 So. Jada Roberson.

Homestead defeated Pike 61-54 to capture their first girls’ basketball championship. The score was tied once and there were nine lead changes in this game. Homestead shot 39.2% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line. The Spartans connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored nine points off eight Pike turnovers. Pike shot 33.3% from the field including one of 11 from beyond the arc. The Red Devils connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Homestead turnovers.

Karissa McLaughlin led Homestead with 29 points including two three point baskets, 11 of 14 free throws, four rebounds, and six assists. Madisen Parker added 17 points including five three point baskets and four assists. Jazmyne Geist recorded eight points and 12 rebounds. Haley Swing chipped in with five points and 10 rebounds.

Jada Roberson led Pike with 18 points, five rebounds, two blocked shots, and six steals. Angel Baker added 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Michaela White recorded 12 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots. LaRae Rascoe chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.
