SlamJam Festival “Night of Stars” April 7th
3-Point Shootout (Girls) – Ally Johnson (Beechwood) won for Kentucky and Maddie Blyer (Hoover) captured the Ohio title. Maddie Blyer was named overall champion as she defeated Ally Johnson by a score of 17-12 to capture the title. 3-Point Shootout (Boys) – Darryl Straughter (Canton McKinley was crowned Ohio champion while Cole VonHandorf (Covington Catholic) was named Kentucky champion and also captured the overall title.
1-on-1 Competition (Boys) – Terry Taylor (Bowling Green) was the boys champion and captured the overall title by defeating Ohio’s Austen Yarian (St. Ignatius) by a score of 29 – 11. 1-on-1 Competition (Girls) – Alexah Chrisman (McAuley High) captured the Ohio title and also won the overall title by defeating the Kentucky champion Maddie Waldrop (Murray).
3-On-3 Championship (Girls) – The Kentucky girls champions were Zyah Beal (Boone County), MacKenzie Coleman (Metcalfe County), and Princess Stewart (Franklin County). The Ohio girl’s champions were Dee Bekelja (Solon), Mariah Copeland (Toledo Notre Dame), and Haylee Crouch ((Springboro). It was originally posted that the Kentucky team won the overall championship but this result was questioned so at this time the outcome is unclear. 3-on-3 Championship (Boys) – The Ohio team of Evan Kuhlman (Lakota East), Kyle Young ((Massillon Jackson), and Austen Yarian (St. Ignatius) captured the overall championship with a victory over the Kentucky team of Pedro Bradshaw (Russellville), Tavin Lovan (Franklin-Simpson), and Tim Dalton (Lawrence County) by a score of 16-12.
BJ Duling (Newark) claimed the slam dunk championship for Ohio with a 55-54 victory over Trace Young (North Hardin) of Kentucky.

Kentucky rallied from a 58-52 deficit after three quarters to defeat Ohio by a score of 82-74. Kentucky was 20 of 29 from the free throw line while Ohio was 20 of 35 from the charity stripe. Kentucky finished the game on a 7-0 run to ensure the victory.
Princess Stewart was named MVP for Kentucky and led the victors with 18 including two three point baskets. Tasia Jeffries added 15 points including two three point baskets.
Brelynn Hampton-Bey was named MVP for the Ohio Team and scored 12 points. Mariah Copeland and Leah Wingeier added 12 and 10 points respectively.

Kentucky overcame 11 three point baskets by the Ohio Team to record a 94-90 victory. Taveion Hollingsworth was named MVP for the Kentucky Team and scored 19 points. Tim Dalton added 16 points.
BJ Duling was named MVP for the Ohio Team and scored 24 points including four three point baskets. Naz Bohannon added 16 points and Tommy Schmock chipped in with 12 points.
