Drayton Caolie hit a layup with eight seconds left on the clock to give, West Linn (OR) a 71-69 lead over Palmetto (FL) and Joey Martinez missed a three point attempt for a Palmetto win to ensure the victory. There were 14 lead changes and eight ties in the game. West Linn held a 17-5 lead in the first quarter but Palmetto battled back to a 69-69 tie before Caolie’s late heroics.

West Linn (OR) shot 47.2% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line. The Lions connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Palmetto turnovers. Palmetto (FL) shot 45.8% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc. Mercer County eked out a 63-62 victory over Anderson County. This game had a bizarre ending as Anderson County trailed by four points with five second remaining on the clock when 6-1 Sr. Dylan Pittman hit a three point basket to pull Anderson County within one; 63-62 with just under five seconds remaining on the clock. An Anderson County player appeared to step out of bounds and slap Faulkner on the arm in an effort to stop the clock and force Mercer County’s 6-4 Sr. Trevon Faulkner to relinquish the ball which resulted in a shoving contest and the clock expired. The referees appeared to call a double technical foul but no free throws were shot and the game declared to be over.

5-11 So. Kaelin Drakeford led Mercer County with 15 points.. 5-8 Jr. Carter Baughman added 13 points. Trevon Faulkner recorded 12 points.
