Team Future trailed by 10 points entering the final quarter but rallied to force overtime and went on to defeat Team Elite by a score of 146-143 in overtime.  The score was tied 143-143 but Luther Muhammad connected on three free throws in the final 17 seconds of the game to earn the victory.  Moses Brown fueled the comeback for Team Future as he scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half.

 

Naz Reid led Team Future with 23 points.  Moses Brown was named MVP for Team Future and added 22 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Kevin Porter Jr. chipped in with 20 points and three steals.  Nassir Little and Duane Washington Jr. recorded 17 and 15 points respectively.  Luther Muhammad added 14 points including three three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and five assists.  Jordan McCabe also reached double figures with 10 points, four rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

 

Emmitt Williams led Team Elite with 31 points and 12 rebounds and was named MVP for Team Elite.  Javonte Smart added 21 points and four rebounds.  Mac McClung recorded 18 points including three three point baskets.  Shareem O’Neal also scored 18 points.  Jules Bernard chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  James Akinjo added 11 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Matt Bradley added 10 points and eight rebounds.

 

Team Future (146) – Washington Jr. 15, Dotson 7, Williams 4, Reid 23, Porter Jr. 20, McCabe 10, Little 17, Brown 22, Norris 4, Muhammad 14, Singleton III 8.

 

Team Elite (143) – White 5, Smart 21, McClung 18, Bradley 10, Williams 31, Akinjo 11, Archie 7, Horton-Tucker 6, O’Neal 18, Bernard 12, Cherry 6.

 

Mac McClung won the Dunk Contest and Jordan McCabe captured the 3-Point Shooting Contest.

 

This game was created in 2011 to bring a credible All-American type of event to the West Coast with the goal of selecting the most deserving players regardless of location, rankings, and affiliations.  The organizers have achieved their dreams and this has rapidly developed into a “must see” event.  Please follow this event on their very comprehensive website and follow the coverage by the various media and recruiting gurus who do an excellent job of showcasing the skills of the participants.  This event does an excellent job of maintaining the integrity of this game as well as allowing the players to participate in some classic street ball-type one-on-one battles which thoroughly entertains the appreciative fans.
