Memphis East vs. Whitehaven Class 3A (Championship)

 

Memphis East coach Anfernee Hardaway started the following lineup: 6-9 Jr. Malcolm Dandridge, 6-8 Jr. Chandler Lawson, 6-11 Jr. James Wiseman, 6-1 Sr. Alex Lomax, and 6-4 Sr. Ryan Boyce.  Whitehaven coach Faragi Phillips countered with 6-7 Sr. Anthony Whitmore, 6-6 Sr. Cameron Jones, 6-8 Sr. Latrell Carter, 5-7 So. Alvin Miles, and 5-10 So. Jesse Payne.

 

Memphis East defeated Whitehaven by a score of 72-50.  Memphis East shot 41.1% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Mustangs connected on 22 of 33 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 17 Whitehaven turnovers.  Whitehaven shot 26.9% from the field including two of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 Memphis East turnovers.

 

James Wiseman led Memphis East with 19 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Alex Lomax added 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists.  Chandler Lawson recorded 11 points and 16 rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Derrein Merriweather Jr. chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.

 

Jesse Payne led Whitehaven with 11 points including five of five free throws and four rebounds.  Latrell Carter and 5-7 So. Kavion McClain each scored nine points.

Loretto vs. Douglass Class A (Championship)

 

Loretto coach Greg Tipps started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Jacob James, 6-2 Sr. Will McBee, 6-7 Sr. Kirkland Surratt, 6-0 Sr. Jacob Hallmark, and 6-2 Sr. Ryan Weathers.  Douglass coach Greg Williams countered with 6-3 Sr. Jamari Crawford, 6-1 Sr. Devyn Payne, 6-4 Sr. Martico Washington, 5-9 Jr. Antavious Buford, and 5-10 Sr. Jordan Smith.

 

Loretto defeated Douglass by a score of 74-67.  Loretto shot 43.9% from the field including five of 21 from the three point line.  The Mustangs connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 62 rebounds, and scored six points off five Douglass turnovers.  Loretto held a 20-7 advantage on second chance points and held a 36-16 advantage in points scored in the paint.  Douglass shot 28.6% from the field including 11 of 42 from beyond the arc.  The Red Devils connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds.

 

Ryan Weathers led Loretto with 25 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Kirkland Surratt added 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Will McBee also scored 15 points including three three point baskets.  Jacob James added 12 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots.

 

Devyn Payne led Douglass with 17 points including five three point baskets and four rebounds.  Antavious Buford added 15 points including five three point baskets and three steals.  Jordan Smith recorded 15 points and three assists.

Fulton vs. Hamilton Class 2A (Championship)

 

Fulton coach Jody Wright started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Josh Berry, 6-0 Jr. Ron Davis III, 6-2 Jr. Deshaun Page, 5-10 So. Edward Lacy, and 6-0 Sr. James Davis.  Hamilton coach William Smith countered with 6-4 Sr. Martrell Brooks, 6-3 Sr. Devon McMahan, 6-5 So. Delvin White, 6-1 Sr. James DeJesus, and 6-2 Sr. Jordan Johnson.

 

Hamilton trailed Fulton 42-38 after three quarters but rallied to earn a 60-58 victory.  The score was tied eight times and there were 10 lead changes in the game.  Hamilton shot 41.5% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Fulton turnovers.  Fulton shot 38.5% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Falcons connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 19 Hamilton turnovers.

 

Martrell Brooks led Hamilton with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  James DeJesus added 12 points including two three point baskets.  6-5 Sr. Julian Woods recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Jordan Johnson also scored 10 points including two three point baskets.

 

Ron Davis III led Fulton with 23 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and four assists.  Deshaun Page added 14 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Edward Lacy recorded 10 points including two three point baskets.  James Davis chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.
