Frankfort vs. Mason County

 

Frankfort coach Chris O’Bryan started the following lineup: 6-5 Fr. Jackson Twombly, 6-2 Jr. Chaz Austin, 6-6 Sr. John Tillman, 6-0 Sr. DaJuan Davis, and 6-2 Sr. Juanya Frank.  Mason County coach Brian Kirk countered with 6-2 Jr. Xylon Frey, 6-2 Jr. Carson Brammer, 6-4 Jr. Jake Swolsky, 6-0 So. Jeremiah Jones, and 6-0 Jr. Braden May.

 

Frankfort outscored Mason County 32-13 in the third quarter to pull away for a 94-68 victory.  Frankfort shot 57.6% from the field including four of 18 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 18 Mason County turnovers.  Mason County shot 42.2% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Royals connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Frankfort turnovers.

 

Chaz Austin led Frankfort with 19 points and three steals.  John Tillman added 17 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Juanya Frank recorded 13 points, four assists, three blocked shots, and two steals.  Jackson Twombly added nine points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Jeremiah Jones led Mason County with 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Jake Swolsky added 13 points including two three point baskets.

Harrison County defeated West Carter by a score of 59-54.  There were 15 lead changes and six ties in this game.  Harrison County shot 43.9% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Thorobreds connected on 19 of 23 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 West Carter turnovers.  West Carter shot 39.3% from the field including three of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Comets connected on seven of 17 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Harrison County turnovers.

 

Spencer Free led Harrison County with 20 points including two three point baskets, six of six free throws, and five rebounds.  Blake Price added 18 points including 10 of 11 free throws and five rebounds.  Thomas Thompson recorded nine points, six rebounds, and three assists.

 

Rodney Evans led West Carter with 13 points and four rebounds.  Braden Leadingham added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Tyson Webb chipped in with 10 points.  Ethan Adkins recorded nine points, eight rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot, and two steals.

Montgomery County trailed 54-52 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Rockcastle County 74-67.  There were four ties and six lead changes in the game.  Montgomery County shot 47.1% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 17 of 23 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 19 Rockcastle County turnovers.  Rockcastle County shot 47.2% from the field including 10 of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Rockets connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Montgomery County turnovers.

 

Pharoah Davis led Montgomery County with 18 points including eight of nine free throws, seven rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and six steals.  Will Cockrell added 18 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Myron Ralls recorded 17 points including five three point baskets, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Austin Eichenberger chipped in with 13 points, three assists, and two steals.

Jabari Kyle led Middlesboro with 23 points including three three point baskets, and eight of 11 free throws.  Christian Hubbard added nine points.  Mykel Griffin recorded six points, six rebounds, and two steals.

 

DaShaun Williams led Powell County with 15 points including two three point baskets, seven of seven free throws, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Colby Cook added nine points.  Chimaobi Ajuonuma recorded eight points and six rebounds.

Xylon Frey led Mason County with 24 points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Braden May added 19 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Carson Brammer recorded 15 points and 6-0 Sr. Jaylen Lofton added 13 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.

 

Rodney Evans led West Carter with 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Ethan Adkins added 12 points and six rebounds.  Braden Leadingham recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.  Evan Jordan also reached double figures with 11 points.

Rockcastle County raced out to a 20-6 first quarter lead on their way to a 73-40 victory over Powell County.  Rockcastle County shot 55.1% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Rockets connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 17 Powell County turnovers.  Powell County shot 26.4% from the field including two of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Pirates connected on 10 of 21 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 Rockcastle County turnovers.

 

Isaac Stratton led Rockcastle County with 14 points on seven of seven from the field and seven rebounds.  6-2 Fr. Daniel Mullins added 14 points including three three point baskets.  Josiah West recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and three assists.  Cade Burdette chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.

 

Chimaobi Ajuonuma led Powell County with 12 points and eight rebounds.  Nathan Skidmore added eight points and five rebounds.
