Sayre vs. Frederick Douglass (Girls)

 

Sayre coach Bart Bellairs started the following lineup: 5-6 8th Grade Kylee Dennis, 5-6 So. Cate Goodman, 5-6 So. Emma Samuel, 5-2 Jr. Maggie Little, and 5-6 So. Melissa Shane.  Frederick Douglass coach Shawn Ransom countered with 5-9 Sr. Destyne Jackson, 5-7 So. Niyaune Gentry, 5-9 Fr. Allison Wallace, 5-5 8th Grade Faith Moore, and 5-6 Fr. Kennedi Brooks.

 

Frederick Douglass defeated Sayre by a score of 64-41.  Frederick Douglass shot 33.9% from the field including five of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Broncos connected on 17 of 31 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 33 points off 35 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 33.3% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 22 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

Destyne Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 21 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, four assists, and five steals.  Niyaune Gentry added 15 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Allison Wallace recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and two assists.

 

Kylee Dennis led Sayre with 23 points and four rebounds.  5-7 Fr. Catherine Graves added six points and seven rebounds.  Emma Samuel recorded six points on two three point baskets.

Frederick Douglass defeated Sayre by a score of 65-40.  Frederick Douglass shot 48% from the field including seven of 20 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 26.8% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

DaShawn Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 19 points including two three point baskets, 13 rebounds, and two assists.  Montaveon Bean added 11 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Sr. Jacob Kenney recorded nine points and five rebounds.

 

Will Hairston led Sayre with 13 points and three steals.  Clay Brumley added nine points including two three point baskets.  Trey Atkins recorded eight points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.

Bryan Station coach Brian Hall started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Kelynn Clay, 5-7 Sr. Kristen McGeachy, 5-8 Sr. Amilleon Black, 5-0 So. Tori Godoy, and 5-7 Fr. Tania Woodall.  Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford countered with 5-10 Fr. Lauren Thomas, 5-9 Fr. Amiya Jenkins, 5-10 Fr. Kennedy Williams, 5-2 Fr. Maddie Kauffman, and 5-7 Sr. Kiya Thompson.

 

Henry Clay defeated Bryan Station by a score of 69-41.  Henry Clay shot 55.6% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 16 of 17 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 16 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 42.5% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on four of 14 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Kiya Thompson led Henry Clay with 20 points including nine of nine free throws and six rebounds.  Amiya Jenkins added 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  5-0 Jr. Taviona Sanford recorded nine points and three rebounds.

 

Kelynn Clay led Bryan Station with 19 points and four rebounds.  Tori Godoy added nine points.

Henry Clay raced out to a 20-6 first quarter lead on their way to an 83-63 victory over Bryan Station.  Henry Clay shot 55.6% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 21 points of 11 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 41.8% from the field including eight of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Harris Hawkins led Henry Clay with 25 points including two three point baskets, 16 rebounds, and two assists.  Marques Warrick added 22 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Keaston Brown recorded 20 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and three assists.  Ramond Jackson chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

 

Myles Morones led Bryan Station with 13 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Malik Black added 12 points including two three point baskets.  5-9 Sr. Elijah Chenault recorded nine points and six rebounds.  James Lindsay added nine points and four rebounds.

Frederick Douglass vs. Scott County (Girls)

 

Frederick Douglass coach Shawn Ransom started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Destyne Jackson, 5-7 So. Niyaune Gentry, 5-9 Fr. Allison Wallace, 5-4 Fr. Haley Buckman, and 5-6 Sr. Ovyonne Taylor.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 So. Kenady Tompkins, 5-10 Sr. Maaliya Owens, 6-2 Jr. Malea Williams, 5-5 Sr. Juliette Smith, and 5-5 Jr. Morgan DeFoor.

 

Scott County led 47-39 at halftime but outscored Frederick Douglass 38-13 in the third quarter on their way to a 99-59 victory.  Scott County shot 40.9% from the field including 15 of 38 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 67 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 17 Frederick Douglass turnovers.  Scott County attempted 93 shots from the field tonight.  Frederick Douglass shot 29.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Broncos connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off 13 Scott County turnovers.

 

Maaliya Owens led Scott County with 35 points including seven three point baskets and 11 rebounds.  Morgan DeFoor added 23 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and seven assists.  Malea Williams recorded 13 points, 19 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Juliette Smith chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Kenady Tompkins added seven points and nine rebounds.

 

Destyne Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 22 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Allison Wallace added 12 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Ovyonne Taylor chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.

Scott County defeated Frederick Douglass by a score of 90-53.  Scott County shot 52.4% from the field including 11 of 20 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 21 Frederick Douglass turnovers.  Frederick Douglass shot 34.7% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Broncos connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored seven points off 12 Scott County turnovers.

 

Diablo Stewart led Scott County with 21 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Bryce Long added 17 points including two three point baskets and eight rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Kobi Harris recorded nine points including two three point baskets. 

 

Brendan Reynolds led Frederick Douglass with nine points and five rebounds.  6-3 Jr. Nathan Mack added eight points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.  DaShawn Jackson recorded eight points including two three point baskets, three assists, and two steals.  Jayden Brown chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.

Scott County trailed 17-16 after the first quarter but quickly rallied to take control on their way to an 88-57 victory over Henry Clay.  Scott County shot 52.3% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 11 of 23 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 37.5% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored five points off 10 Scott County turnovers.

 

Malea Williams led Scott County with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Maaliya Owens added 17 points including three three point baskets, six of eight free throws, and five rebounds.  Morgan DeFoor recorded 17 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Kenady Tompkins chipped in with 14 points and four rebounds.  Juliette Smith chipped in with five points, four rebounds, and six assists.

 

Kiya Thompson led Henry Clay with 26 points including two three point baskets, and six of eight free throws.  Amiya Jenkins added 15 points, nine rebounds, and two steals.  Kennedy Williams recorded nine points and five rebounds.

Henry Clay recorded an upset in a 78-71 victory over Scott County and avenged two regular season losses to the Cardinals.  Henry Clay shot 46% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 26 of 34 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 41.9% from the field including six of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Henry Clay turnovers. 

 

Keaston Brown led Henry Clay with 16 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.  6-1 Jr. Marquis Mackey also scored 16 points including two three point baskets.  Ramond Jackson recorded 13 points including nine of 11 free throws, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Harris Hawkins added 12 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Marques Warrick chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds.

 

6-5 Jr. Terrin Hamilton led Scott County with 15 points and four rebounds.  Lorenzo Williams added 12 points including seven of 10 free throws and eight rebounds.  Diablo Stewart chipped in with nine points.  Michael Moreno recorded eight points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Bryce Long and Glenn Covington also scored eight points each.
