Westview (31-5) vs. Cheatham County (30-3) Class AA Championship

 

Westview coach Brian Haskins started the following lineup: Sr. Zanasha Gadlen, Jr. Alexis Callins, Jr. Tiara Yancey, So. Avery Leyhue, and Sr. Raegan Johnson.  Cheatham County coach Jim Gibbs countered with 5-9 Jr. Alli Douglas, 5-7 Sr. Emmy Nelson, 5-11 Sr. Jorden Bumpus, 5-6 Sr. Eryn Nelson, and 5-7 Sr. Abbi Douglas.

 

The score was tied 40-40 with less tan two minutes left on the clock and Eryn Nelson hit a field goal and Alli Douglas added a free throw to give Cheatham County a 43-40 victory over Westview.  Cheatham County trailed 31-29 after three quarters but outscored Westview 14-9 in the final quarter to earn the victory.

 

Cheatham County shot 33.3% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Cubs connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.  Westview shot 36.1% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Chargers connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.

 

Abbi Douglas led Cheatham County with 17 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and five steals.  Emmy Nelson added 12 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.  Alli Douglas recorded seven points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.

 

Alexis Callins led Westview with 14 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Raegan Johnson added eight points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Zanasha Gadlen recorded eight points including two three point baskets.

Bradley Central (33-3) vs. Houston (31-2) Class AAA Championship

 

Bradley Central coach Jason Reuter started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Hannah Lombard, 5-9 Sr. Anna Roberts, 6-1 Jr. Anna Walker, 5-6 So. Jamaryn Blair, and 5-7 Sr. Kaleigh Hughes.  Houston coach Ben Moore countered with 5-10 Sr. Jayla Hemingway, 5-8 Sr. Madison Griggs, 5-8 Sr. Melisa Carter, 5-5 Jr. Destinee Wells, and 5-6 Jr. Tatiana Gary.

 

Hannah Lombard connected on a three point basket in the closing seconds to give Bradley Central a 46-44 victory over Houston.  Bradley Central shot 42.5% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line.  The Bears connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and committed seven turnovers.  Houston shot 33.3% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Mustangs connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.

 

Jamaryn Blair led Bradley Central with 25 points including two three point baskets, five of five free throws, and four assists.  Anna Walker added 10 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Jayla Hemingway led Houston with 16 points including seven of eight free throws, 11 rebounds, and two assists.  Madison Griggs added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Melisa Carter recorded six points and 14 rebounds.

Gibson County (34-3) vs. Loretto (33-1) Class A Championship

 

Gibson County coach Mitch Wilkins started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Annie Bass, 5-7 Sr. KJ White, 5-10 Jr. Alaina Hunt, 5-6 Sr. Ashton Lannom, and 5-7 Sr. Hannah Ball.  Loretto coach Ashley Rutledge countered with 5-10 Fr. Karly Weathers, 5-10 Jr. Victoria Chadwell, 6-0 So. Kensey Weathers, 5-6 Jr. Morgan Welch, and 5-9 Jr. Mimi McBee.

 

Gibson County outscored Loretto 18-11 in the final quarter to earn a 50-42 victory.  Gibson County shot 45.9% from the field including six of 10 from the three point line.  The Pioneers connected on 10 of 10 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.  Loretto shot 34.1% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Mustangs connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.

 

Ashton Lannom led Gibson County with 15 points including three three point baskets, six of six free throws, five rebounds, and five assists.  KJ White added 12 points.  Annie Bass recorded nine points on three three point baskets and three rebounds.  Hannah Ball chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.

 

Karly Weathers led Loretto with 26 points including six three point baskets, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Kensey Weathers added six points and seven rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Raven Chance recorded six points, three rebounds, and three blocked shots.
