2019 Coast 2 Coast Ballin’ In The Bluegrass

There were several divisions in this event but due to time constraints I only covered the three older events.

Boys 9^th Grade – There were 19 teams entered in this division placed into five pools as follows: Pool A: WKY Vision, Team Rize, Emerge Elite, and Team Xplosion, Pool B: D1, Team Primetime, B Maze White Elite, and Memphis Basketball Association, Pool C: West Virginia Mpact, KY Select, and Charlotte Court, Pool D: LKU, Kimbro Ballers, Pride Athletics, and Higher Goals, and Pool E: Champaign Heat, 4D United, WKY Elite, and 1 Team 1 Family.

Boys 10^th Grade –There were twelve teams entered in this division placed into four pools as follows: Pool A; Cincinnati All Ohio Purple, Vision Elite, and Team Primetime, Pool B: KY Select, Pride Athletics, and Ohio Valley Hitmen, Pool C: CKY Magic 16U-Chapman, 1 Vision Academy, and Mauldin CPA Longhorns, and Pool D: 1 Team 1 Family, Team Xplosion, and Charlotte Court.

Boys 11^th Grade – There were 18 teams entered in this division placed into five pools as follows: Pool A: Vison Elite, KY Elite, Team Primetime, and ICE 2020 Blue, Pool B: Pride Athletics, 1 Vision Academy, WKY Elite, and ICE 2020 White, Pool C: Charlotte Court, CKY Magic 17U-Atkins, and KY Select, Pool D: CKY Magic-Morton, CKY Magic-Sparks, Bluegrass Showtime, and Kimbro Ballers, and Pool E; Kentucky Supreme, Team Xplosion, and Ohio Players.

Boys 9^th Grade Bracket

B Maze Elite White captured the championship and was led by Jakobi Gillespie (2022) (Greenville High School TN) who excelled this weekend on both ends of the court. Pride Athletics was led by Clay Sizemore (2022) (North Laurel last season) who can shoot from deep and gets to the rim. Siler Watson (2022) (Fort Chiswell VA) is a versatile scorer who excelled this weekend and played for Team Xplosion (VA). Trent Edwards (2022) (George Rogers Clark) is a long 6-3 with an unlimited upside and played for Team Rize. Jaiden Lawrence (2022) (Warren Central) played for WKY Elite and is a point guard who can score. 6-3 Bryce Riley (Nelson County) (2022) played for Pride Athletics and score inside, mid range, and is adding depth to his jump shot. Colby Fugate (2022) (Paintsville) played for WV Mpact (WV) has a versatile offensive game and defends his position. Jaheim Berry (2022) (Clarksville (TN) is a natural lead guard that can play off the ball and played for WKY Vision 15U (KY/TN) this weekend. Landyn Henry (2022) (Troy High School Ohio) played for Emerge Elite (OH) a combo guard with a high basketball IQ. This was just a few that impressed in this division but read the thoughts and opinions of Nextup Recruits and Prep Hoops who were in attendance this weekend and also provides quality coverage.

Boys 10^th Grade Bracket

Mauldin CPA Longhorns (SC) captured the championship and was led by MVP 6-7 James Cooper (2021) (Mauldin SC) scores, rebounds, and blocks shots – what more could you want? 6-3 Jameson Tucker (2021) (Mauldin SC) is a point guard with all the skills. Montel Ware (2021) played for Cincinnati AOP (OH) shoots the ball well and is quick on quick. Justin Lovette (2022) (LaSalle OH) played for 1 Vision Academy (KY/OH) and was an excellent PG with all the skills.

Boys 11^th Grade Bracket

This bracket was loaded and CKY Magic-Morton captured the championship with a hard fought 75-71 victory over the Ohio Players. Anthony Tabor (2020) (Woodford County) was name MVP and led the Magic with 31 points. Some of the other top players for the champions included 6-3 Amari Taylor (2020) (Tates Creek) well rounded player and a versatile scorer. Amirion Joyce (2020) (Bourbon County) defends and loves to run in the open court. 6-10 Ray Surratt (2020) (Lafayette) passes well and has good offensive skills. 6-7 Lincoln Bush (2020) (George Rogers Clark) is a lefty plays hard and is capable of putting up big numbers. Ohio Players 17U (OH) also had a stacked roster that included 6-6 Mike Grant (2020) (Walnut Hills OH) can score from the wing as well as get to the rim. Long and athletic big upside. Julian Mackey (2021) (Lakota West OH) versatile scorer and pressure performer who lives for the moment. Mikel Clay (2020) (Finneytown OH) – Physically strong power forward who finishes in traffic. Dakarion Branch (2021) (Western Hills OH) is a strong wing player who can score off the jumper and gets to the rim. James Lindsay (2020) (Bryan Station) is a 5-10 point guard with amazing quickness and excellent ball handling skills and played for Charlotte Court. 6-6 Taylor Spurlock (2020) (Harlan County) also played for Charlotte Court and shoots the ball as well as creates his own shot. Charlotte Court also had the services of 6-5 Brett Norvell (2020) (South Laurel) who is a versatile scorer and deadly from downtown. Jahein Mullins (2020) (Tates Creek) played for CKY Magic-Sparks is a strong forward that scored from both inside and out. Makhi White (2021) (Eastern) played for Kentucky Elite is a lefty guard and a versatile scorer. Braden Sebastian (2020) (Garrard County) played for ICE 2020 Blue is a versatile 2-guard with good size and skills. Alex Schalch (2020) (Mason County) 6-5 power forward excellent in the paint. Mason Rusch (2020) (Calvary Christian) is a lefty point guard that controls the tempo and good shooter and played for 1 Vision Academy this weekend. Brandon Dean (2020) (Gate City VA) played for Team Xplosion (VA) and has good offensive moves and shoots the ball well. Tre Minter (2020) (Butler) played for WKY Vision 17U and is a quick PG who scores well and is always putting pressure on his defender. Dre Boyd (2020) (Warren Central) also played for WKY Vision 17U and plays with passion and athleticism. Colton Fraley (2020) (Pulaski County) is a 5-9 point guard with good skills and a high basketball IQ. Rodrell Dryden (2020) (Woodford County) played for Pride Athletics (KY), rebounds, blocks shots, and has a rapidly improving offense.
