Woodford County vs. Mason County

 

Woodford County coach Jaron Brown started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Hunter Penn, 6-0 Sr. Jared Courtney, 6-5 Sr. Riley Gardner, 5-8 Sr. Anthony Tabor, and 5-6 Sr. Ashton Myles-Devore.  Mason County coach Brian Kirk countered with 6-2 Sr. Carson Brammer, 6-2 Sr. Xylon Frey, 6-6 Sr. Alex Schalch ,6-0 Sr. Braden May, and 6-1 Jr. Jeremiah Jones.

 

Woodford County raced out to a 20-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 57-46 victory over Mason County.  Woodford County shot 51.2% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Mason County turnovers.  Mason County shot 30.4% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Royals connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 24 Woodford County turnovers.

 

Hunter Penn led Woodford County with 20 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and three blocked shots.  Ashton Myles-Devore added 13 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Anthony Tabor recorded 12 points including five of six free throws, five rebounds, and two steals.

 

Xylon Frey led Mason County with 11 points and three steals.  5-8 So. Nate Mitchell added seven points.  5-8 Jr. Anwar Perry recorded six points, four rebounds, and six steals.  5-11 Fr. Tyrell Henry chipped in with six points, three rebounds, and two steals.

Kiernan Geraci led Dixie Heights with 25 points including two three point baskets, nine of 10 free throws, 11 rebounds, and five steals.  Ian Snelling added 24 points, four rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Jay Flynn recorded 14 points including three three point baskets, two assists, and two steals.

Robertson County outscored Christian Academy of Louisville 34-14 in the final quarter to earn a 79-72 come-from-behind victory.  Christian Academy of Louisville led 50-31 in the third quarter but the Black Devils outscored them 48-22 for the remainder of the contest.  Robertson County shot 48.9% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line.  The Black Devils connected on 28 of 43 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 15 CAL turnovers.  CAL shot 51% from the field including nine of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Centurions connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Robertson County turnovers.

 

Justin Becker led Robertson County with 36 points including three three point baskets, 19 of 28 free throws, and six rebounds.  Brandon Dice added 18 points including six of seven free throws, three rebounds, and two assists.  Eli Dotson recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Ross Becker chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
