Estill County vs. Martin County

 

Estill County coach Ruth Hughes started the following lineup: 5-6 Fr. Grade Haley Angel, 5-7 So. Hannah Baker, 5-7 So. Macy Reed, 5-4 7th Grade Jayci Long, and 5-7 So. Mia Hale,  Martin County coach Robin Newsome countered with 6-1 Sr. Madison Thompson, 5-11 Jr. Lakyn Porter, 5-9 Sr. Kristen Isaac, 5-4 So. Lynndsey Cassell, and 5-6 So. Graci Snyder.

 

Martin County defeated Estill County by a score of 69-39.  Martin County shot 47.6% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 19 Estill County turnovers.  Estill County shot 30.8% from thee field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Engineers connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Martin County turnovers.

 

Madison Thompson led Martin County with 28 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, four blocked shots, and three steals.  Kristen Isaac added 17 points and nine rebounds.  Lynndsey Cassell recorded 15 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and four assists.

 

Mia Hale led Estill County with 23 points including two three point baskets, five of six free throws.  Hannah Baker added 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.  Haley Angel recorded four points, eight rebounds, and two steals.

Lewis County defeated Montgomery County by a score of 56-46.  There were three lead changes and one tie in this game.  Lewis County shot 43.2% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Lions connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 19 Montgomery County turnovers.  Montgomery County shot 29.3% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 16 of 25 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 27 Lewis County turnovers.

 

Cheyenne D’Souza led Lewis County with 14 points including six of seven free throws, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Payton McGlone added 13 points including five of seven free throws, and five rebounds.  Sarah Paige Weddington recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds.  5-4 So. Alanna Puente chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets and three assists.  Liv Campbell added four points and 10 rebounds.

 

Shaelynn Harris led Montgomery County with 17 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, and three steals.  Hayden Barrier added 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

St. Henry defeated Harrison County by a score of 42-27.  St. Henry shot 28.3% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Crusaders connected on 10 of 21 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 30 Harrison County turnovers.  Harrison County shot 25% from the field including one of five from beyond the arc.  The Fillies connected on 14 of 24 free throws, pulled down29 rebounds, and scored two points off 17 St. Henry turnovers.

 

Katelyn Ives led St. Henry with 10 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  5-5 Fr. Amanda Schlueter added eight points, three assists, and four steals.  Abby Millay recorded seven points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Katie Evans chipped in with six points, seven rebounds, and two steals.  Morgan Flanagan recorded five points and four steals.

 

Gabrielle Hatterick led Harrison County with 13 points including eight of 12 free throws and five steals.  Katelin Ecklar added five points and Elizabeth Allison pulled down six rebounds.

Olivia Federle led Collins with 22 points including seven of 10 free throws, 12 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Allendra Brooks added nine points including two three point baskets and two steals.  Emma Banta recorded eight points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Katelin Ecklar led Harrison County with 24 points including four three point baskets, four of six free throws, six rebounds, and three steals.  Gabrielle Hatterick added 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Kara Hines recorded nine points and seven rebounds.  5-11 Sr. Gracie Hughes chipped in with seven points and 10 rebounds.

Lewis County took advantage of a cold shooting (19% from the field) Martin County ream to earn a 40-34 victory.  The score was tied twice and there were three lead changes in the game.  Lewis county shot 32.4% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Lions connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 20 parts off 21 Martin County turnovers.  Martin County shot 19% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 17 of 26 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored nine points off 18 Lewis County turnovers.

 

Sarah Paige Weddington led Lewis County with 11 points including seven of eight free throws.  Aliyah Horsley added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Cheyenne D’Souza recorded six points, nine rebounds, and three steals.  Payton McGlone chipped in with four points and six rebounds.

 

Kristen Isaac led Martin County with 15 points including 11 of 18 free throws and 14 rebounds.  Lakyn Porter added seven points and four rebounds.  Madison Thompson recorded six points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
