Columbia (FL) vs. Lafayette

 

Columbia (FL) coach Steve Faulkner started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Charleston Ponds, 6-3 So. Marcus Peterson, 6-6 Sr. De’andre Jefferson, 5-10 Sr. Darrien Jones, and 6-1 Sr. Kenney Gaines.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-4 Sr. Shawn Perkins, 6-3 Jr. Campbell DeYoung, 6-9 Sr. Ray Surratt, 5-10 Jr. Kobe Blake, and 5-10 Fr. Jayd Huynh.

 

Lafayette trailed 27-16 in the third quarter but rallied with a 12-4 final period run to earn a 37-35 victory over Columbia (FL).  There were three lead changes and six ties in this game.  Lafayette shot 34.9% from the field including four of 22 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 19 Columbia (FL) turnovers.  Columbia (FL) shot 26.4% from the field including two of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on five of 13 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored nine points off 20 Lafayette turnovers.

 

5-10 Jr. Will Stanfield led Lafayette with 11 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Ray Surratt added nine points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots. 

 

6-6 Sr. Marcus Owens led Columbia (FL) with 10 points and 12 rebounds.  Kenney Gaines added eight points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Marcus Peterson recorded eight points, three rebounds, and three steals.

Bourbon County coach Lamont Campbell started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Mukonkole Lukonga, 6-4 Jr. Jack Huckabay, 6-7 Sr. Brycen Collins, 5-9 Sr. Nakyir Joyce, and 6-1 Sr. Amirion Joyce.  Southern coach Shedrick Jones countered with 6-2 Sr. Quincy Murrell, 6-1 Jr. Zavian Jackson, 6-7 Jr. Evan Frederick, 5-8 Sr. Ronyell May, and 6-1 Jr. Camden Pfeister.

 

Bourbon County recorded 16 steals, three blocked shots, and scored 34 points off 34 Southern turnovers in a 75-58 victory.  Bourbon County shot 34.4% from the field including six of 23 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 25 of 32 free throws and pulled own 38 rebounds.  Southern shot 39.3% from the field including four of nine from beyond the arc.  The Trojans connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 21 Bourbon County turnovers.

 

Amirion Joyce led Bourbon County with 25 points including two three point baskets, 13 of 15 free throws, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Nakyir Joyce recorded four points, five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

 

Evan Frederick led Southern with 11 points and seven rebounds.  5-6 Jr. Nestor Perez-Hernandez added eight points.

Henry Clay raced out to a 23-14 first quarter lead on their way to a 78-60 victory over Moore.  Henry Clay shot 50.9% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 15 Moore turnovers.  Moore shot 49% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Mustangs connected on eight of eight free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored six points off six Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Marques Warrick led Henry Clay with 22 points including nine of 12 free throws, three rebounds, and three steals.  Sebian Dillard added 19 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, two assists, and three steals.  Marquis Mackey recorded 16 points and three assists.

 

Dowan Green led Moore with 17 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  6-1 Jr. Jarah Anderson added 12 points and seven rebounds.  Darius Carver recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Harlan County connected on 1 three point shots on their way to a 77-48 victory over Shelby County.  Harlan County shot 52.8% from the field including 15 of 32 from the three point line.  The Black Bears connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 17 points on 11 Shelby County turnovers.  Shelby County shot 41.7% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Rockets connected on two of three free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Harlan County turnovers.

 

Jacob Wilson led Harlan County with 23 points including seven three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Taylor Spurlock added 16 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, six assists, and two blocked shots.  Jackson Huff recorded 12 points on four three point baskets.  Trent Noah dished out seven assists.

 

JaShon Marshall led Shelby County with 15 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.  Trenton Burchfield added 13 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.

Darrien Jones led Columbia (FL) with 10 points and five assists.  Kenney Gaines added 10 points and three rebounds.  D’andre Jefferson recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

Moore led 55-35 in the third quarter and withstood a late Shelby County rally to earn a 70-62 victory.  Moore shot 60% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Mustangs connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 17 Shelby County turnovers.  Shelby County shot 42.9% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Rockets connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 16 Moore turnovers.

 

Dowan Green led Moore with 17 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and two assists.  5-7 So. Future Brooks added 16 points including two three point baskets.  Brooks was seven of seven from the field including two of two from beyond the arc.  Darius Carver recorded 15 points.  Jarah Anderson chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.

 

Austin Griffin led Shelby County with 17 points including three three point baskets.  Kaden Dugle added 16 points and eight rebounds.  Trenton Burchfield recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, four of five free throws, and four rebounds.

Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.  5-9 Jr. Devin Johnson added 11 points including three three point baskets.  Abe Nelson recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and three assists.

Marques Warrick hit a three point shot at the buzzer to give Henry Clay a 70-67 victory over Bourbon County.  Bourbon County led 55-48 after three quarters but Henry Clay rallied for the victory.  Henry Clay shot 56% from the field including 10 of 23 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine Bourbon County turnovers.  Bourbon County shot 49% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 12 of 13 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Marques Warrick led Henry Clay with 35 points including five of six from the three point line, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Warrick was 14 and 16 from the field and two of two from the free throw line.  Sebian Dillard added 13 points and seven rebounds.

 

Amirion Joyce led Bourbon County with 21 points including two three point baskets, five of six free throws, five rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Nakyir Jovce added 17 points, four assists, and three steals.  Brycen Collins chipped in with 10 points.
