43rd District Tournament Paul Dunbar High School (Boys and Girls)

Lexington KY February 23rd

Tates Creek (17-10)  vs  Paul Dunbar (20-6)  (Girls)  -  Dunbar outscored Tates Creek 40-18 in the second half in a 62-41 victory.  Dunbar shot 36.4% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 19 of 31 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 22 tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 30.6% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Dunbar turnovers.

6-1 Jr. Ebony Rowe led Dunbar with 22 points, 20 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  5-4 Christin Haney added 13 points and seven assists.  5-5 Sr. Erin Lucas added nine points.

6-1 Fr. Peyton Hisel led Tates Creek with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  5-6 Sr. Betsy Goodin added 12 points.  5-5 Sr. Kyleigh Kreyenbuhl chipped in with seven points.

Paul Dunbar (13-8)  vs.  Tates Creek (13-11)  (Boys)  -  Tates Creek shot 51.4% from the field in a 58-47 victory over Paul Dunbar.  Tates Creek was four of 12 from the three point line.  The Commodores connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 38.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on three of seven free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Tates Creek turnovers.

6-3 So. Marcellus Barksdale led Tates Creek with 16 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.  6-2 So. Ryan Fucci added 15 points and seven rebounds.

5-11 Sr. Nick Hudson led Dunbar with 17 points despite playing with a noticeable limp in the second half.  5-9 Sr. Marquis Clay and 6-2 Sr. Tod Lanter each recorded 10 points.  6-8 Sr. Tyler Rogers chipped in with four points and nine rebounds.
