Lexington KY February 24th 

Lafayette  (20-8)  vs.  Lexington Christian Academy  (24-4)  (Girls) -  LCA pulled away late to beat Lafayette by a score of 57-41.  LCA led 31-16 at halftime but Lafayette cut the deficit to six; 35-29 in the third quarter before LCA made their final run.

LCA shot 51% from the field including five of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on two of three free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 30.6% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 LCA turnovers.

5-11 Sr. Courtney Clifton led the victors with 22 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Jr. Sarah Beth Barnette added 21 points and nine rebounds.  Barnette was 10 of 13 from the field including one of one from beyond the arc.

5-7 Jr. Lisa Hack led Lafayette with 16 points.  5-7 Jr. Ali Ross added seven points.  6-0 Sr. Jessica Walker recorded four points and 12 rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy (10-15)  vs.  Lafayette (9-17)  (Boys) -  Lafayette rallied from an early 18-6 deficit to defeat LCA 40-38.  LCA  had an opportunity to tie the game in the closing seconds but missed a couple of shots in a wild melee under the basket as time expired.

Lafayette shot 27.9% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 47.4% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.

5-11 Jr. Mike Walker led Lafayette with 13 points.  6-3 Jr. Micah Miller and 6-0 Sr. Tyler Barber added eight and six point respectively.

6-5 Sr. Grant Sparks and 6-2 Jr. Branden Burdette led LCA with 10 and eight points respectively.  6-6 Jr. Will Evans added seven points and 14 rebounds.
