42nd District Tournament Henry Clay High School (Boys and Girls)

Lexington KY February 26th

Bryan Station (15-14)  vs.  Scott County (14-14) (Girls) Championship -  Scott County made a late run to finally put Bryan Station away by a score of 85-74.  Scott County led 32-16 in the first half but Bryan Station rallied to pull within two; 51-49 late in the third quarter.  Scott County went on another run to lead 77-60 but Bryan Station fought back to narrow the margin.

Scott County shot 39.7% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 19 of 23 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 20 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 35.1% from the field including 11 of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored eight points off 14 Scott County turnovers.

5-9 So. Kristen Stainback led the victors with 29 points.  5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists.  5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn and 5-5 Fr. Ally Conrad chipped in with 10 points each.  5-9 So. Alex McKenzie recorded eight points and 12 rebounds.

5-7 Jr. Mikyla Mosby led Bryan Station with 24 points including six three point baskets.  5-5 So. Carrington Caise added 15 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists.  5-7 8th grader Serena Sandusky and 6-0 So. Amber Crumbie chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively.  5-11 Jr. Alesha Prince recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.

Henry Clay  (17-13)  vs.  Scott County  (26-3)  (Boys)  Championship  -  Scott County broke open a close game in the third quarter to take a 55-34 lead late in the period.  Henry Clay rallied and pulled within eight points in the final quarter before falling by a score of 79-69.  

Scott County shot 56% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 18 of 25 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 21 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 51.9% from the field including nine of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 15 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 24 Scott County turnovers.

6-8 Jr. Dakotah Euton led the victors with 26 points and 10 rebounds.  Euton was nine of 11 from the field including two of three from beyond the arc and six of six from the free throw line.  6-2 Jr. Ge-Lawn Guyn added 21 points.  6-8 Sr. Richie Phares chipped in with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  6-4 Jr. Chad Jackson recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

6-0 Sr. Prince Stewart led Henry Clay with 20 points including four three point baskets.  5-8 Jr. Marquel Johnson added 12 points on four thee point baskets.  5-10 So. Brandon Nichols also recorded 12 points.
