Louisville KY February 25th

DuPont Manual  (22-6)  vs.  Mercy Academy (19-6) (Girls) Championship  -  Manual outscored Mercy 19-8 in the final quarter to pull away for a 70-54 victory over Mercy.  Manual utilized strong bench play tonight holding a 21-4 advantage in bench scoring.

Manual shot 40.45 from the field including five of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Crimsons connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 28 Mercy turnovers.  Mercy shot 28.3% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 21 of 28 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 25 manual turnovers.

5-7 Fr. April Wilson led Manual with 16 points and six steals.  6-1 Sr. Avery Jones added 14 points and 12 rebounds.  5-8 Fr. Lauren Bodine chipped in with 12 points on four three point baskets.  5-4 Sr. Denisha Harbison also reached double figures with 11 points.  5-10 So. Mechael Guess recorded  six points and 10 rebounds.

5-8 Jr. Malisa Cruz led Mercy with 14 points including three three point baskets.  5-9 Sr. Catherine Montano added 10 points and eight rebounds.  5-9 Jr. Therese Montano also recorded 10 points.  5-8 Jr. Ellen Sholtes chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and seven assists.
