11th Region Tournament Eastern KY University (Girls)

Richmond KY March 2nd (Girls)

Western Hills  (17-9)  vs.  Scott County  (15-14)  -  Scott County raced out to a 45-12 lead on their way to a 68-50 victory over Western Hills.  The Lady Cardinals led 45-14 at halftime holding Western Hills to 14.3% from the field in the first half.

Scott County shot 35.1% from the field including five of 22 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 25 Western Hills turnovers.  Western Hills shot 22.7% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Wolverines connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored eight points off 14 Scott County turnovers.

5-11 Jr. Madison Webb led Scott County with 21 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.  5-9 So. Kristen Stainback added 20 points including two three point baskets.  5-9 So. Alex McKenzie chipped in with six points and 16 rebounds. 5-10 7th grader Iman Guy recorded eight points and eight rebounds.

5-10 Sr. Tara Arnold led Western Hills with 38 points including 30 points in the second half.  Arnold recorded four three point baskets, connected on 14 of 16 free throws, and pulled down six rebounds.  5-8 So. Megan Walker only recorded two points but pulled down a game-high 22 rebounds.

Lexington Catholic  (16-14)  vs.  Madison Central  (21-9)  -  Lexington Catholic led 43-19 in the third quarter and weathered a Madison Central rally to capture a 62-45 decision.  Madison Central went on a 24-8 run to cut the deficit to eight; 51-43 in the fourth quarter before LexCath pulled away for the victory.

Lexingto Catholic shot 37% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 27 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 37.1% from the field including three of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

5-9 Sr. Shaneque McGhee led Lexington Catholic with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  5-8 Sr. Maggie Wilson added 13 points and six rebounds.  5-8 8th grader Olivia Wilson chipped in with 10 points and four steals.

5-7 So. Kayla Sharp led Madison Central with 10 points.  5-9 So. Jenna Cornelison and 5-6 Sr. Lyndsay Jones added nine and seven points respectively.
